But as far as I remember, PfMW protects only from +3 or less weapons. And I intend to do a deathmatch with a guy who will probably have the allmighty Carsomyr he promises to put in my @$$ ;) And with Absolute Immunity I will be able to completely ignore all his hits. The fight will be a tough one, because he is lvl 25 berserker at this very moment, and he will level more and more ;) So if there were a way to increase the duration...

Spell lesson of the day. The spell you are thinking of is Improved Mantle, which protects from any weapon +3 enchanted or less. PfMW renders you immune to ALL magical weapons. Only unenchanted weapons can bypass PfMW. You do realise that Absolute Immunity only protects you from +4 enchanted or less weapons anyway? Carsomyr is +5 enchanted, you may figure out the rest.

Hang on a second. He is a Berserker. Berserkers CANNOT use Carsomyr except through cheating.

Handy tip, equip the Amulet of Power and Robe of Vecna for extremely fast spellcasting. When his Berserker is enraged, he is immuned to Imprisonment. He will most likely use the Cloak of Mirroring. As such, do not cast directly on him, cast around him. Summons will help too, such as Mordenkenain's Swords( laughs evilly). Use 3 Lower Resistances to negate his magic resistance. It will bypass the Cloak of Mirroring.

Extremely cheesy tactic. Have a Spell Trigger filled with PfMW, Improved Haste and Stoneskin inside. When the battle starts, cast it on yourself and run around for about 6 seconds. Then cast Time Stop, cast Shapeshift and choose Mind Flayer. Hit him as fast as possible.

Are you sure they carry Vorpals Dundee? It's just I when played TOB I used to summon those things(Planetars/Devas) like there was no tomorrow but I never once experienced one killing a foe, maybe this is just bad luck on my part but it just seems too wierd especially with a 25% chance of vorpal hit.

Eh? They were useless to you? Yee lords! They are the most powerful summons you can ever have!

The Planetars carry a Vorpal Two-Handed Sword +3, and I know it is vorpal, because I have seen the special effect, and enemies die in one hit( high Hp enemies, not Goblins ;) ).

The Devas carry a modifed version of the Mace of Disruption. Cleric players should be clearer on the enchantment level( should be +3 as well) and their other abilities.
[/QUOTE]Must just be my bad luck then although they certainly weren't useless to me, dealt plenty of damage, hardly ever died and great range of spells....they just never killed anything.

Heh I like , I like a lot just a pity I'll probably never play multiplayer to try that for myself....still nice tactic for beating those "full of themselves" fighters though.

Cheesy tactics are justified if you're fighting a berserker who's somehow using Carsomyr.

By the way, "Wish" as cast in SoA is actually several spells cast by NPCs at certain points in the game. For example, in the City of Caverns, the king casts "Wish" to heal your party before you fight the Ettin.

Irenicus casts "Wish" to instantly kill your party, no save, if you go to fight him without the other inmates.

The next question about the Wish. What if I shadowkeep the spell into my spellbook? Have anybody tried this? I saw the 'wish' line in the list of spells, but even now my mage is still limited to lvl 6 spells...

Dundee Slaytern 09-04-2002 06:47 AM

Why not wait until you reach ToB before you get it? I mean seriously, you do not need Wish until ToB.

TaSSaDaR 09-04-2002 06:50 AM

It's the urge to explore all the cool features and BigFreakin' Spells avaliable :D And I dreamt of seeing that Wish spell in action for a long time ;) OK, I am just impatient!

Dundee Slaytern 09-04-2002 07:00 AM

Wish is not really a spectacular spell when it comes to spell effects. Sometimes the best spells are mundane in appearance, while 'useless' spells can cause you to go, "Oooo, pretty..." ;)

Of course, nothing quite beats the show of the aftermath of a PRATI combo, or a PRAI( pry) combo.

Beef 09-04-2002 01:11 PM

What is PRATI?

P = Project Image?
R = Robe of Vecna?
A = (Amulet of Power/Abu-Dizzim's Horrid Wilting)?
T = Time Stop?
I = Improved Alacrity?

Is that it?

Also is PRAI just the same as PRATI without the Time Stop?
