Does my opinion still count, though? ;) Bahamut's assessment was actually correct, wasn't meant to be rude; I was a bit irritated however by Lennon's somewhat elitist remarks and I guess that showed, somewhat.

You sure love to use the word 'elitist' alot. Yer obsessed with it!!! Actually, Lennon was just pointing out that it's a REALLY good alternative, and that is it more secure because it's not a Microsoft product, and that it's not targeted BECAUSE it's not as popular.

Hackers go after the browser most people use. There is no need to get all testy about it, geez.

Now back to the thread. no more discussion about this.

<span style="color: lightblue">I've only used Thunderbird briefly, because I mostly use web-based, but it was excellent then, and that was version 0.7. It even has an inbuilt, trainable, junk mail filter. I've not heard anything about it not handling large boxes, so you shouldn't have too many problems with it. And even if you do, it's always possible to report a bug, the devs do listen (unlike what you see with alot of other programs), and want to their program better. Take it from someone who knows very little about browsers. I use Firefox on the main PC and Netsc 7.2 on the other. IE is sh!t. I say that because, if I use it, it's only a matter of time before my home page becomes a XXX page and I can't change it. As a novice user, I don't know how to deal with these issues. Firefox and Netsc do not give me these problems.
And as far as crapping on MS, I think more people want to use the common stuff 'cos it's in and cool! I have some programs that won't work with my Browser like my HP Camera software. It's a drag, but I'll suffer. Maybe ver 1.0 will help this.

Now. Will someone answer my earlier question please?!

I really do not see how competition matters when IE comes free with windows, and Firefox is a free download...

At least Opera has ads, or registering... Where is the profit?
