Listening to Nick Cave isn't that unique, though - he's actually rather well known just below the billboard radar. I listen to his music quite frequently, and so does for example Melusine IIRC.

As for my top 5 favourite albums, I suppose that's a thing that's a thing that's constantly changing. You can find a top 100 I did 6 months ago here, but it's not very up to date anymore. I suppose the top 5 is basically still the same, though.

I notice you kicked David Bowie from your top 5 Dirty Meg, why? :(

This isn't really a top 5, I dont think I can rate music like that.. But these are some albums that come to mind:

The Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
Radiohead - OK Computer
The Smashing Pumpkins - Machina, the Machines of God
Blur - Blur
Pink Floyd - The Wall

Yes, that is two Smashing Pumpkins albums.. but I just happen to be the biggest SP fan in the world ;)

and ladyzekke.. alot of people feel that way about Billy Corgans voice, but it really doesnt bother me. And he writes superb songs!

Strange you'd name Machina as one of your favourite albums, though - as far as SP-records go, Siamese Dream is a lot better than that one. As a (former?) SP-fan, I thought Machina would have been a lot better if Corgan just scrapped about half of the songs (I really could have done without Heavy Metal Machine and Glass and the Ghost Children, to name a few). But you're entitled to your opinion, of course.

Good thing you didn't mention that dreadful Zwan album, though. ;)

Oh, wait...the best albums of all time, eh...not the ones I think are the best, but the ones that most people think are the best???

Well, my list is probably wrong then....

I'm curious about what Dron/Drew'll post when he sees this thread... :D

...Eh? Right on for all being Metallica, but that list is... incorrect. Quite simply. Surely you agree with me that this is the right list:

1)Master of Puppets Metallica
2)...And Justice For All Metallica
3)Ride The Lightning Metallica
4)ReLoad Metallica
5)St. Anger Metallica

...Right? (Yes, I like St. Anger better than TBA ;) )

It sure smells like crap in this thread! :D

How about,

Van Halen - OU812
Def Leppard - Pyromania
Def Leppard - Hysteria
Peter Gabriel - So
Van Halen - 1984

Does NO ONE else like Rap/hip hop here! :D

Beasty Boys is decent I guess.

I wanted to put 'Driving through mythical America' on the list, and I removed Bowie because he was the least obscure. I shouldn't have limited myself to five.

Intrepid 11-08-2004 08:50 AM

you can still add Bowie.
It's Bowie afterall.
