Sygate is another firewall, Felix. I tried using it a while ago, but I was looking for freeware at that time, and their only freeware option expired after thirty days.

It's legit...

AHA! AHAHAHA! Thankyou! See I'm not the ONLY one who hasnt kept on top of things! (Thank god I was getting worried!) Bwahaha! Anyhoo... No - I haven't heard of Spybot S&D... Whatever that is. :D

Bungleau 09-29-2004 10:45 AM

Spybot S&D is Spybot Search & Destroy... another spyware killer. Between it and AdAware, most spyware is covered, caught, and killed.

Do a google search for it... it's a free download.

I also use HiJack This as the third repair leg. It's also a free download, but it's not as user-friendly

Update: A week later, I re-scanned. 200 or so spyware files. Damn this bloody internet!

I'm getting the feeling that I should run adware again, it's just that I'm getting the suspicion because I'm getting pop ups when my computer kicks on

Beaumanoir 10-02-2004 06:20 PM

Yea thats what made me check mine again. I got pop ups whenever I opened a browser... RAR!

The joy of using I.E...

Bungleau 10-02-2004 10:31 PM

I run both AdAware and Spybot on a daily basis. Spybot generally picks up half a dozen items on the old family computer (which still uses IE). I'll be changing that over shortly...

Schedule 'em and forget 'em. That's what I always say...
