No bloody way Europe is going to have a president like the American one...can you imagine French taking orders from a German president?

By the way did you know the enlargement of the EU with those eastern european countries is causing huge trouble in the European Parliament? They dont have enough translators. When a spokesman from lets say Latvia is speaking, they need to have about twenty interpreters to translate his speech, its as good as an unworkable situation.

So we had an MP last year that said things would be easier if we had one language in the EU parliament, english....now you guess what the french and spanish reaction to that plan was...

So they cant even get along on the issue of speaking the same language in parliament, that rules out the idea of having a president that can have power over the national governements i think...

there is actually a language made already(with textbooks and such). It contains something from alot of European languages, like english(about 40%), french, german, latin and spanish. there might have been more, but i dont remember them right now. all we need now, is to have the deciding folk accept it...like thats gonna happen.

lol, johnny*krhm* I mean, shame on you! are you calling him a president!?

The language you are referring to is Esperanto... but like you said, building the language is one thing, teaching it and using it is a complete different ball-park...

I think the European Parliament should all be required to prove fluency in Latin, wear togas, and gesture grandly whenever making a presentation in front the parliamentary body.
