Morning Update!

At 7:00AM it is -22 degrees F and we were without electricity since before 4:00AM. What a nice way to wake up. We he had to boil water on the woodstove for coffee and tea today.

There is nothing like standing with your back to the stove, getting warmed up, and then sitting in the comfy easy chair. The heat just seeps right into you!

Pretty cold inside my house, too! Can't seem to get the temp up over 62 today.

It was -12 Farenheit yesterday morning when I got out of my car to come into the office. Wind chill was -30 F.

Today it's -8 with a windchill of -33 F. NOT toasty, by any means!

We've got natural gas, forced hot air for heat and lots of blankets, comforters and fleece robes/blankets.

This thread and the weather outside make me want to make a pot of tea and some hot chocolate and bury myself under those blankets and robes! It's COLD! brrrr....

Back in 1986 I was in Moscow (USSR) and then a week in Amsterdam and it was -40F (someone told me that F and C meet around that point). All I know for sure is it was miserably cold and going out was a challenge. Buses sometimes stopped working, even the subway shut down in Moscow for a day! Your breath froze when it left your body and even my eyes froze shut where the breath froze on them! UGH!
