update - went to work today and everything is sweet. Casually remarked to her (during a busy rush-time so as to not draw too much attention to the issue) 'sorry about putting you on the spot the other night, I have a bad habit of of during that when I'm drunk'. She just laughed and said it was all good.

Problem solved...until the next night out... ;)
