Z, where your sister lives is halfway between my parents in Danville (where I went to college, too) and my sister and some cousins in Lexington. ;) The second-to last time I was popped for a traffic violation was the damned Nicholasville bypass. Come to think of it, the most recent time was on Nicholasville Road leaving Lexington. I swear, I can't get used to cops who stop you for going a measley 15 mph over the limit.
Oh yeah! I packed my radar detector when I go up there Another road (that is WAY too crowded is Man o War) I remember when that road was 1 lane each way! now, it's 2 lanes each way, and packed! We take the back country roads to her house from I-75 at Man-o-War and on those back roads, you see all those awesome horseracing farms.

Then, when we leave to go to Louisville, we hit Versailles to I-64. I love the autumn weather, so we try to go each year.

ew! I feel for ya.. Where abouts are you? London, KY?
Close...Harlan. :D
My dad was born northeast(?) of Harlan. Little place called Lewellyn. Nothing there now but a few old trailers and the old company store/office; which looked like a third world apartment building. Dad lived there until he was three; after his dad died of a staff infection. Then my grandmother moved back to Anderson County, TN. My aunt took us back there when I was 18 or 19 and showed us where they lived. That was 20 or so years ago. I was in Harlan back in the mid 80's doing flood plan studies for the Army Corp of Engineers and also later in Pineville doing the same thing.
