That's funny. I forgot that today was April Fool's. LOL. I tried opening the webpage from AOHell, but it kept adjusting it's location by scootching down and to the right every few seconds. I didn't get the quake thing til I closed out the AOHell viewer and opened up the IE one. LOL. That's cool. I thought the site was infected by a virus or something.

Alas for me it's doing more than shaking - it's just moving further and further down my screen and I have to keep scrolling to find the window. Dan - it may please put it back to normal - I can't read any threads and it's taken me 20 minutes to post this :(

It's also evening here now ;)

Cloudbringer 04-01-2003 03:05 PM

I've had trouble with my eyes today, so I've been avoiding GD while it 'shakes'. I can see how it might be giving some people a headache, that's for sure! :(

I'm posting the following for Epona, who cannot get into IW with the shaking going on:

Quote:

Dan, I would be really grateful if you could turn off the screenquake thing now. It was funny initially, but as an AOhelL user, I cannot use IW while it is going on. The screen for me, and I suspect for other AOL users, doesn't shake as others have described - it disappears, and reappears off the page every couple of seconds or so, and then I have to scroll around to find the window. As if that isn't enough, after about a minute of doing this, it is causing AOL to crash. Also there is no method that I can see, unlike with IE, of turning off the scripting.

I am finding it more than irritating - it is making it impossible for me to even read posts at IW, and now I can't get in at all.

This is a heartfelt plea - please please please turn it off now, I think everyone has seen the joke, but for me it is just no longer funny when I can no longer even access my favourite website, and when my PC crashes every time I check back to see if it's back to normal.
PS: Attalus is having the same problem with the screen shrinking or going off.

i didn't fall for it cause my roomate click on a "you are an idiot" link just before i logged on but man it's giving me a hell of a headache.

Go into your internet options and disable scripting, that will get rid of it. Just remember to turn it on again at some point, or a lot of websites will stop working.

And I dont know how the tradition goes in florida, but over here april fools day ends at noon. Which is 9 hours ago. Only 4 hours by server time. Anyway, Im getting a headache as well now.

EDIT] Thatll teach me to read posts properly. While im sure even AOHell must have this feature somewhere, I dont use them anymore, so I cant have a look. But you can run IE through AoHell. Just connect using the AOL dialler and minimise it. Load IE.
