I think that if the communist party was just another party, then the public might accept it, but if the communist party got power in america, would the communist party try and change the United States from a democratic republic into communism? Also the way the system is set up, only 2 parties can really exist, other 3rd parties may come around but if they have good ideas, the R and D take the ideas into their own party.
