FYI HCl 1 molair HCl has pH of 1 and will dissolve a nail in 2 days top

The acid in the stomach may lower pH to 1 (usally about 1,5-2), BUT proteins in the food will buffer a lot of the hydrogen ions being released into the stomach. The actual pH would be around 3-4, 100 to 1000 times less acidic! Now what would happen if we would add more hydrogen ions from the food... ;) If the pH in the stomach should drop to 1, you would most certainly feel it and if it would stay at 1 for some time, I would advice you to drop by the emergency. ;) </font>
