That's interesting, my dad said that removing the cover would have negative effects on the flow of cool air and therefore actually not improve cooling but hamper it. Then I note what you just said and the fact that my computer has been getting more screwy since I put my conver back on.....

Hm, well, now my mouse is starting to go crazy. Occasionally it just starts randomly leaping around the screen and clicking stuff when I move it.

I think you have been eating cheese near the back of your P.C and the bits have gone inside it and screwed your mobo,or your mobo has had it which makes more sense than my last suggestion.

Neb a lot of optical mice now come with their own software to let them do certain things. A word of advice is to never instal that software. Although it can sometimes work okay, I find that in a lot of the cases, it causes problems with your operating system. Your mouse jumping around the screen and clicking or opening things is a problem I had with mine a while back til I got rid of the software it came with. Best option is to just plug the damn thing in and use it on it's own.

I have to agree with Bokken. Istalling the provided drivers seems to cause problems rather than eliminate them. The good thing about Microsoft coming out with new operating systems every couple of yers is the driver database gets bigger each release.

Windows ME isnt as bad as most people think. Its much better at handling memory and has a much larger driver database than 98SE. Plus its also got System Restore. Nice little tool that. One thing I really like about ME is I've never had a single "Fatal Error" like I always got with 98.

When you go to buy a new mouse, I don't suggest buying a cordless one. It's always so tempting to pick it up and toss it and catch it, or spin it like a coin on your computer desk while waiting for a game to load. I'm quie surprised mine hasn't broken yet, but we have soft rug. [img]smile.gif[/img]

That and I have a Microsoft cordless optical (fancy blue colour! Ever so pretty!) and it uses up batteries pretty quickly. NiMH batteries would solve that though.
