Thanks heaps Ronn and Magik for all that [img]smile.gif[/img] . I'm going to make an appointment with the optometrist after my exams so I'll see what he thinks, and what surgery might cost. We do have health insurance but I don't know if elective surgery is covered. It is pretty annoying having to haul my glasses around everywhere, and you know what they say - men don't make passes at girls in glasses ;) . You wear your lenses for swimming?!? Isn't that risky? Like they'll come out with the water?
Also, the reason they bother your eyes after only five hours is that they are so old! I can wear mine for like 12 hours and they only get annoying when my eyes are really tired in the evening.
Can't be bothered to read all the other replies...but I'd get soft contacts whoever is asking...I get the 30 day ones that you take out at night and they are cool, no eye problems for me so far, and I've had them for nearly a year. THere's no point wearing them while you sleep and you will quickly get used to taking them out and putting them in quickly. Although I found it very hard putting them in at first and took up to 30 mins in the first few days!

I was presented with the same choice a year or so ago. Have the same problem with my eyes (wattery,allergy) - except that bit about the makeup remover [img]smile.gif[/img] . My doc made it clear that I might have severe problems with contacts (except the ones I couldn't afford at that time) because of this. And since I'm not vain - I followed Doc's advice, took glasses and avoided all/any complications [img]smile.gif[/img]
