I just tried to convert your metric size and weight to feet and pounds and I think you'd be 5'6 165 lbs. That's pretty heavy for your height. You must be pretty built.
I think I'm 186 cm, and 100 kg. [ 06-12-2002, 01:50 PM: Message edited by: MILAMBER ] |
I usually train daily. The program usually is:
-10 min running -30 situps -30 push-ups -light weights -10 situps -heavy weights -20 pushups Sometimes, I cut down on the situps and pushups, but usually, I manage to follow the program. I am 175cm high, and weights around 70 kg. ;) |
I havn't worked out in some months now. School and work (15 hours a day) give me just enough time to eat and sleep. I'll start back with it when I get out this August. Previously, I was doing a lot of weight lifting. My bench press had just topped 310 when I quit. I'm big, athsmatic, and a bit chubby presently, so my run time has always sucked. I was running 1-1 1/2 miles a couple times a week and biking on the weekend during the temperate months. I'd like to get a good exercise machine to compliment the weight bench for the cold months. Unfortunately, a guy my size needs a pretty sturdy machine and those cost money. Right now, I like the Schwinn ellipticals. Very good machines for a reasonable cost. The Schwinn elliptical also has the benefit of being quiet, which is good when you have downstairs neighbors. It generates it's own power for the electronics. It's still about $1000 U.S. though. I simply can't afford one until I get paid better. With the economy around here, that could be a while. ;)

Here's a link on HMB that you may find useful. [ 06-12-2002, 11:23 PM: Message edited by: Memnoch ] |

Just for the record, most supplements like creatine, HMB, etc. work mainly by speeding muscle repair after exercise as well as minimizing muscle breakdown, which means you can go to the gym and stress your muscles more often - rather than increasing muscle mass per se. It's when you rest and eat that you gain the bulk. HMB is a bit more of an exception - even if you do minimal exercise you will still have minimal increase in lean muscle mass and a reduction in fat - it's a fat metaboliser. If you exercise and eat properly you the benefits increase exponentially. The best thing about it is that it's not an artificial substance - it's found naturally in the body and in foods like catfish and alfalfa. So it's not bad for you. |
