Well, considering such a large percentage of the island is considered uninhabitable (volcanic?), I'd say they'd have a tough time building too terribly many factories -- the land is just too rugged. Right?

<font face="Verdana" size="3" color="#00FF00">Your spending your honeymoon in Nova Scotia. Very nice province, nice locals, nice scenery, good folk music, and fun. If you are in Halifax in summer I recommend seeing "Shakespeare by the sea" if you like live theater, outdoor plays at the waterfront. Would like to retire in Nova Scotia. For scenery I kind of like the Cape Breton Highlands.

Went to University in Nova Scotia (2 years Acadia, Wolville) and (3 Dalhousie, Halifax), now my sister lives in Halifax. Very nice province.

Actually, Italians are excellent drivers, they just don't give a crap about trafficlights or roadsigns. they just wanna get to their destination as fast as they can by all means necessary. :D

Now the French, those are the real bad drivers. If you've ever been to Paris, you'll know why. I've never seen so many damaged cars in one city in my life. Try going for a ride in downtown Paris and you're up for a nervous breakdown, especially when you get caught up in that circle around the Arc de Triomphe.

Paris traffic = Brutal unreasoning force. I've been there too and I couldn't help being totally awed by the sheer ferocity of the parisian lanes.

Alls I know is we have a cabin on a lake with mountains in the backgroud in the middle of nowhere with a bed and breakfast a few miles away. It is at the very beginning of May so I hope:
a. Its not too cold
b. Its not too cold! :D
c. It is a honeymoon so if it is cold we can just stay in! ;)

Yeah I know I live in New England so I have no right to complain about the cold, but in my own defense I transplanted up north from the south, so cold is not in my blood!

I hear Cairo is far far far worse. Many streets are one-way. You just don't know which way, because the flow of traffic determines everything. Maybe west today, maybe east tomorrow. Depends in which direction the flow of traffic takes over. I've not been there -- but that's what I've been told by others.

While a complete breakdown of laws and common manners is present in both cases the difference lies in that the parisian traffic chaos is not congested, but instead flows rather freely. Thus you'll se a lot of cars driving with raging speed without paying any heed to traffic laws and general conduct. Add the city environment and you have something potentially very dangerous.
