Well I go with Egypt Napolianic France and then Rome. He Napolian gae women the right to own property and sue I belive.
Of course I have a soft spot Of Maximillian and Carolotta of mexico. Kinda short but I heard they gave good parties [img]smile.gif[/img]

Mine has to be the Byzantine Empire.
It lasted more than any other empire although it was feared and contrasted mainly by Christians.
The longevity of the Byzantine empire was remarkable as were their coltural technological and military achievements.

I disagree with your view of Alexander.
He was never defeated in battle and accepted the customs of the civilazations he conquered.IMHO he was THE greatest general to ever walk this planet so far.
