Sadly most people think our history was like "Hollywood" ie; the old west alot of people think that there were gun fights all the time, and everybody walked around with a "Hog Leg" strapped to their hip, and would kill at the drop of a hat.

What is ironic about his statement?

John Adams, Jefferson died the same day, don't quote me on it but I think jefferson acctualy died first but John Adams had not received the news when he died.

If these kids were in the Mall at the time that school was in session, then their lack of knowledge will not reflect a true example of the education of our children, because obviously, these fools are drop-outs that will work extra hard for 30 years just to become Lead Grocery Bagger on second shift at some rinky-dink food store.

No offense intended for those of you that are lead baggers...http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

Not reading the prior responses, I'm going to give it a stab:

1. Q. Why do we celebrate the Fourth of July? To celebrate America's independence from Britain through the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

2. Q. From which country did America gain independence? England (re: #1)

3. Q. Which river did George Washington and his troops cross in a surprise attack during the Revolutionary War? The Delaware

4. Q. Where was the Declaration of Independence signed? Philadelphia, in Independence Hall

5. Q. What are the three 'unalienable rights' afforded to us by the Declaration of Independence? Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness

6. Q. How many stripes are on the American flag? 13

7. Q. Who wrote the words to the "Star Spangled Banner?" Francis Scott Keyes

8. Q. What country gave us the Statue of Liberty? France, in 1876

9. Q. Who was the first president of the United States? George Washington

10. Q. Which came first: the Constitution or the Declaration of Independence? The Declaration. The Constitution wouldn't be drafted until at least 8 years later, after the war was over.

Going to post and then check my answers...
