It wouldnt bother me if they flame me cause its all just text on a screen to me but if someone thinks they have been flamed BY me then I would rather they dont spread the negative vibes around the forum and just contain it to this thread.

But what does flaming accomplish? All that happens is that someone eventually takes the remark the wrong way and gets all pissed off (yeah, I've never typed this word in the forum, but there's a place for it here).

If you truly want to have a good time, don't do it at the expense of others. I think some of the most satisfying discussions are when people feel free to disagree with others without offending. Those are the times when people learn more about each other, or begin to change their way of thinking. Open communication does a lot to make the world a better place.

If you ever get a chance, Caleb, read the Supreme Court opinions of Oliver Wendall Holmes and you'll get a feeling for what the lays out as The Marketplace of Ideas. It's a wonderful concept that explains why forums like this are such a success.

BladeMaster,
I did not say what he did was right...he offended you and that was wrong!
I just said that I thought it was funny and I apologize to you for that because I know you are upset and it does not help you.

Hugs?
Moni

FatherBronze,
I am sure Caleb will think before he posts any more spontaneous funnies. I would not call all his posts flaming by any means and I understand perfectly what he said in the quiote you responded to.

I think we all ought to be allowed our senses of humor and also that we should understand that not everyone's sense of humor is going to match our own.
No need putting a gag on Caleb when apparently not everyone gets offended at some of the funny things he posts.

Like I said, I am sure he will consider who he might be offending in the future.

Friends,
Moni

BladeMaster,
That's good to know

Yeah it being stated ahead of time that the thread was serious made the remarks wrong but I am glad you see the humor in it.

Caleb, We don't want to kill ya, and agree with Mem, this thread will just start stuff, and you don't need that.

You're a good guy, and I understand your humor too, but some people may take it wrong, (I did at first). So consider this a 'fresh start' http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

I'm going to close this thread though..

Hey Moni I think you got the wrong idea from me. I am totally used to Calebs comments nowhttp://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif I cracked up myself when I saw the Biscuit King! I have nothing against it at all personally. Im just saying that some other people might not take it as well. The joke he said about me in the other thread was funny and i wasnt pissed at all. And he knows this, so no probs)
