After finishing KOTOR, I rented Jedi Academy for a night. Wow. What a horrible game. Blurry graphics, boring gameplay, annoying side-kicks, and friendly fire. About the only thing I liked was that I was able to repeatedly kill my NPC companion when he got on my nerves (you have to reload when that happens, but damn is it worth it).

I haven't played Jedi Academy (Or Dark Forces 3, if you like) and I'm not sure who developed it. I know Raven Software is off the Quake 3 engine for good. They're currently busily at work on Quake 4, which will likely be much like Heretic, Hexen, and Hexen 2: A gamer's game on an id engine. I liked Doom3, but Raven tends to make a better game in general...

Anyone who's played Hexen 1 or 2 knows what I'm talking about.

Also, id has reported they're 'very satisfied' in Hollenshead's own words, with the work Raven had done on Quake IV so far, and that it will probably at the current workrate be out sometime next year.
