DS the game doesn't exactly give me any options for the install aside from the path. I have the very last release 2 disc version. It installs off disc one and runs off disc 2. That's about it. Anyways I'm thinking I may run through Mars little goose chase then open the box at the very end of it. Before having the priest take care of it. And I was wondering about the demon because I had chosen to take it on, but wondered why it was so pathetically easy to kill that my starting character was able to take it out. Ok so I had the help of Morte and Dak'kon, but they were low level too. That slug was all Moridors demon was? Giant Skelly's are more dangerous than that.

Trust me, you want to let the priest take care of that box. letting the fiend loose nets you an easy battle and a few XP. Letting the priest take care of it is far more entertaining in the long run.
|
Hmmm..., does it get me more than 600xp when he deals with the box? I was gonna run around doing the little give box to so'n'so missions racking the xp for those then get tired of chasing around the place and deal with the demon myself, but if having the priest take care of it yields more xp, I may go that direction.

I dont know how much XP you get directly from the priest, but the items and XP you gain later on as a result are well worth it.

Andrewas I'm gonna need a spoiler on this. I've been through the boxes scenario once roleplaying, now I wanna tackle it powergaming while sticking as close to good alignment as possible. What xp and items are you refering to?

SPOILER
> > > > > > > > > > > > If you open the box, you get the weak demon (weak from being trapped in the box). If the priest disposes of it, much later in the game, you run into full powered demon, and he is MUCH harder (and worth more xp, etc.). Let's just put it this way, if you've fought your way through a lot of devils/baazetu, you will run into the demon when you return from that area. ;) To do full install: Install game normally. Plug in each CD one at a time, choose My Computer-->CD Drive, then open another My Computer, then choose the directory with your CD1 file in it. Click and drag the folder from the CD drive to the other folder, copying that file over. Do this with all of the CDs, and you are all set. You'll still need CD2 in the drive to play the game (it checks, even with full install). |
Nerull you weren't paying attention I only have 2 discs.
|
Should work with the 2-disc set as well. Might need to tweak the .ini file, not difficult.

I might just give it a try then andrewas. Any clue what I'd have to do? Much as I'd love to figure it out on my own, I'd rather not change something and forget what it was that I did. Anyways I assume it would include copying the contents of disk 2 into my hard drive. then what?
Just decided to take a peek in my .ini file for torment. This is what I found on the top few lines. [Alias] HD0:=C:\Games\Planescape - Torment\ CD1:=E:\CD1\ CD2:=E:\CD2\ CD3:=E:\CD2\ CD4:=E:\CD2\ My guess I copy the CD2 folder into my hardrive somewhere. Possibly in the Planscape - Torment folder. and in place of E:\ I put down the appropriate path. Am I correct? Someone tell me before I experiment with it.
