Wing Commander IV and Conflict Freespace (1). Both were quite brilliant.

I dont know if it was the best, but BG1 intro was pretty cool! Sarevok was just so...evil looking, and you just gotta love his voice!
Warcraft 3:s intro was pretty cool aswell...dont have FT yet, so cant say anything abuut that. |
Well, I really like the movies in Warcraft 3, especially the ending movie of the orcs which is just stunning (if you got a decent graphics card, that is ;) )

Freespace, Freespace 2 and StarCraft have, by far, the best opening videos!
Freespace's is better than it's sequel becuase it has a BIG amount of panic and emotion. [ 09-19-2003, 04:51 PM: Message edited by: Bozos of Bones ] |
If the trailer is going to be the opening movie, then Halo 2.

One I was really disappointed with was Civ 3. All you do is circle round this castle type structure; very lame. I loved the music in the Underworld 2 opening movie! :D And I love that guy's voice in the movie to Ultima 7 pt 2 - sounded like he was holding his nose or something :D |
The Ultima Underworlds both had fun intro movies to back up utterly brilliant games. Not as flashy, cinematic or realistic as the overhyped Diablos and Blizzard beauties, but still awesome!
The first even features the voice of the legendary Martin Galway as Corwin! (I'll not leave my post until I hear fair Ariel's voice from within!) The second would be my favourite, merely hearing the way the music changes as the Guradian creates the blackrock shield around Castle British still brings chills to my spine! Cerebrodragon |
The best intro Ii've ever seen was from an old PS1 game called Soul Reaver where Raziel comes along and shows Kane his new wings and Kane rips them to shreds then throws him into the big swirling pool thing.

Welcome to IW, OB1. You've been here before? What was your previous nickname?
