(since I can't edit and add stuff to my old post)

Which reminds me... Juni's ship (The Defender) can be made available with a little mod. If you have BiniQDU, her ship's specs is listed under "li_elite2" in the file shiparch.ini

If any of you are interested, I could provide a tutorial on how to make her ship available in Battleship Missouri. Just in case if you were wondering, her ship is as good as The Anubis or better...

Well after over a week, the game was begining to get a bit boring, so I thought I would give multiplayer a bash. All I have to say is if you haven't already done, get online and have a multiplayer game its fantastic.

Freelancer: Frontier: Elite 2, with the plot of Flashback thrown in.

I think Sarevok's voice actor does a few turns... I definitely recognised him as one of Prof. Quintaine's guards on Station Glorious.

and Trent even dresses in the exact same clothes as Conrad Heart.

I have never palayed Elite, Flashback or any earlier games but Trend's costume does remind me of the one wore by the protangonist in Privateer.

If you like freelancer then I suggest you give Frontier: Elite 2 a try, ok Its old now, very old and graphically it look like the back end of an elephant by todays standards. But gameplay wise I still think it out-classes Freelancer by far, so much more freedom, so much more options. And lets see how long Freelancers Ubership the Titan would Stand against Frontiers Puma Clipper, armed with a large Plasma accelerator . And the best thing about the Elite games (Elite, Frontier: Elite 2 and Frontier 2: First encounters) is that David Braben the game creator recently made them all Freeware and they can all be downloaded from the official Elite Site.

http://www.frontier.co.uk/index.html

NOTE: The games are not under the download section, navigate to the games section and the select the game individualy and the download option should be at the bottom off the page.

'Titan'? What is this ubership, the Titan, and can it be used by the player?

I've got a cargo hold full of Class 10 weaponry, and no ship that can moun such awesome power.

Daniel:
Thanks, I might give it a try but getting old games to run on my P4 is a huge pain in the butt. I was playing Privateer2 until the last mission and the game crashed right after that. I wonder if it is my PC or the something wrong with the abandoned CD-rip version.

Tancred:
You obviously missed the VHF fighters. There are four of them;Titan, Sabre, Eagle and Hammerhead. If you are in the mood for spoiler, I will give you the location of the base which sells them.

Oh, Except for the Hammerhead, the other 3 of them has 4 hardpoints of class 10 guns and 2 hardpoints for class 9 guns.

The official shareware release of Elite2/FFE is (AFAIK) no different to the last commercial release. I prefer this :

http://www.jaj22.demon.co.uk/

A third party variant of Frontier: First Encounters. Runs under windows with DirectX. Graphics are improved, but not massively. Whole thing should be a lot more stable. And you can get a thargoid warship in it (it *is* possible, you just have to know how to get round the bugs) which makes the Puma Clipper with Large Plasma Accelerator look a little bit pitiful. Although if you take my advice you'll stick with the Argent's Quest which has more than enough firepower to dominate the game but is still weak enough that you might occasioanly be challenged.

All development of JJFFE seems to have died not long after official development ceased in summer '02. Shame that. No news on elite4 either. Not even that old concept art. All very depressing really.

The Hammerhead is a Bounty Hunter Fighter, is it not? And I'm quite sure it can't mount lvl 10 weapons :( .
Besides that one, are any of the above being sold by non-criminal factions?
