I once tried to count 48 minutes to answer a challenge from a friend. He was supposed to be clocking it, but after I'd done it it turned out the bastard was just winding me up.

Sorry, just thought I'd throw that in there.

The game allows you to do this? Where? Is there an in-game way that you would find this out, or is it like "easter eggs" or gamers' tribal knowledge in other video games? Do you risk becoming shark bait (or dreugh bait)?

When you're next in an expanse of water, look around on the bottom and before long you'll see oyster-ey things called Kollops. Just hit SPACE at one like you would a chest, and it'll open its inventory. Depending on your Luck stat, there's a chance to find a Pearl inside worth 100GP. A good place to do this is just outside Seyda Neen... Dive into the inland pond near the tax collector's corpse (if you found it) and there'll be a door in a cave underwater. This is a grotto, with plenty of kollops inside!

Pearl diving has always been one of my favourite little touches to Morrowind .

When I started, I used to steal everything to sell for training. But I eventually realised that, if intend to powergame, there are far easier and faster ways to make money.

When I got around to making a thief character, I only stole things I considered valuable. Like raiding the three treasuries.

Sadly, I still powergamed, and wore 100% CE chameleon, and could quite merrily kill off an entire room without being seen, or take items that where lying right in front of their owners.

You'd think someone would get suspicious when their store inventory just starts disappearing.

Maybe, in Oblivion, there will be thieves who take your stuff! And you come back to your house and find your 5,000 pounds of booty ransacked.

P.S. Recall is THE spell to use when moving house.

It's been stated that player characters WON'T be stole from, I'm afraid .

Kyrvias 11-29-2005 10:41 AM

Indeed.

It's probably as well. I think many players would throw an absolute fit after their 5/15/days hour long stealing sprees were all taken from them just like that. I mean, it isn't fair, is it? ;) . You scour Morrowind/wherever for days picking up select loot, and then the AI takes it all from you
