Just don't abuse your power, or you get booted out. And you don't have full command over him. You study the city, see which areas are in need of protection, find better ways for hiring, get as many soldiers as possible. And there are other people who would like to be military advisor. Anyways, attaining higher ranks is really good. While you report to the advisor, you are allowed to give commands to lesser ranks and find ways to settle quarrels between soldiers. As a general, you are trying to keep political interference at a minimum. All the army info will be posted.

erm, there wouldn't be a place for Magick doers would there? I don't want a high rank, maybe if there's a magic institute, I could be a student magi? ;)

And of course, even in a nice little city with guards, there has to be a thief guild somewhere :D

Can I be his master Don't worry, If there isn't an official magic institute then I'll found an underground cult ;) ;)

Right now, don't have a magic university, and if you choose to build one, it will take a while to build one. You also have to get the towns approval by going around and getting a petition signed.

Beaumanoir 01-28-2003 05:10 PM

Why don't you start it sooner? You've built all our hopes up now! ;) I'm sure the petition would be succesful enough. Many want to learn the arts of Magic Then again, I'll probabaly just sit in the inn and drink evermead all day again ;)

I would start it sooner, but I want to be on top of everything. Right now I'm gathering information on the previous thread, seeing its problems and trying to patch up holes so this one will be better.

Ah, I've always wanted to be a baker. Getting up at three, being in the kitchen at 4 a.m., selling loaves all day and surrounded by the smell of fresh bread (best smell in the world) for so long you can't stand to eat a single slice of it yourself... and the possibilities of expanding your store with a cakes & pies section, or losing your buisness to the new supermarket down the street. Save me a spot there, if you will.

I'll need supplies to be able to bake my bread, aside from an oven and a work desk, access to a well and a place to sell my loafs, I'll need a steady supply of ingredients. Eggs would be useful, though I'd manage without, what I really need is a miller and farmers to supply the mill with grains to grind, or alternatively I'd need supply caravans from another village.
As far as pay is concerned, am I to understand the village as a whole is paying a weekly fee for a fixed amount of bread per person, or does each costumer pay individually?

Yes. I would like to set up some form of magic institute for the benifit of city folk. I would also be honoured to be the Mayor's magic advisor, as it does seem like he is in need of one, so says the list. Advisor could be my job, the institute would be non-profit and all money earned would go back into the institute (as well as alot of my own earnings too)

Cheers,

Beaumanoir

(didn't know which thread to post this in so I posted it in both so no-one could steal the advisor job ;) ;) )

Something missing... wait! There's no church to oversee the spirtual wellbeing of the people! o_O Even in the smallest villages there's at least a statue, a chapel, a shrine... a holy bit of rock... something. If no-one minds, I feel like retiring from the Paladin life and starting up a ministry of Helm. Is there an opening for village cleric?
