ooc- muah, of course he wants the girl in good condition ;) he doesnt want her to use her devestating attack called "attempt at cooking eggs!" bwahahahaha... stop me if im scaring you.. :D :D

ic- Skye trembled with anger, her blue-violet eyes flashing as she glared first at the orc, then at the cloaked one's back. She glanced over at the other three. "I wonder if we could somehow escape..? Though I shouldn't make the first move, because if we get caught again I might be viewed so favourably by their 'Master'," Skye thought to herself. She stared fixedly at each of the other captives in turn, trying to get their attention.

<font color=lightgreen>Pathris watched as the last elf in the room came to awareness. How he had managed to stay that way for so long was beyond Pathris. "Awareness of one's surroundings is a vital thing," he thought. He put hand to his head, hoping to relieve some of the pain that still lingered there. "Perhaps he was escaping the pain."

The newest member of the real world spoke finally as he looked between the bars of the cell. "Lurin, a woodsman. How nice," he thought sarcastically. But he did not say anything aloud, just smiled wryly although neither of the other two could see it. "So, I have Lurin the woodsman and Turgon the spellcaster. Newcomers to the adventuring trade, it looks like. I suppose things could be worse." He looked and saw the rat retaking its place in the blankets, which brought a sigh to his lips. "It figures."

The sound of an ruffian's voice had caught Pathris' attention, but he had been unable to catch any of the words except for what sounded like "elfy." "Another of my dear kindred," he twisted the word in his mind, "is here as well, it sounds like." But four was better than three when attempting an escape; one more to distract attention from himself.

Suddenly, a burly half-orc interrupted his thoughts by stampeding through the door. Pathris swore under his breath; it would figure that someone would just have to interrupt him. He stood up quickly, looking to make an escape, but the half-orc was quick and efficient in what he came to do: collar the Elves. Pathris watched as his cellmates attempted to fight the jailer off, but to no effect. If those two weren't having an effect, he doubted that he would, as both Elves were a little bigger than he was. Lurin looked to be especially strong, but he was quickly collared. So Pathris did not struggle at all when the half-orc came to him. He watched as the rat happily nested itself in the now empty blanket. "Have fun with it," he said softly.

Pathris was led outside the cell, into the presence of a thin man with a dark hood who held a woman prisoner. "A half-breed!" Pathris thought in surprise. "And not a bad looking one..." He wasn't overly worried, as at the moment they had the numbers advantage. The dark man handed the chains of the woman over to the half orc and then turned around to speak into a strange orb. The half-orc began to look very uncomfortable, which Pathris found amusing.

Without looking at the others, Pathris began to appraise the situation. There were four on his side, and two of them, one of whom was preoccupied. He gazed at the man, looking for weapons. Perhaps they could overwhelm the orc...</font>

ooc: Are our hands chained or is the chain and collar leash the only thing on us? How are we arranged as we stand there? Does the dark man have any visible weapons? I need more detail, Spree! I expect better work next time. :D

Anyway, was this long enough for you guys (and girls)? Yes, you may thank me for making you guys work so hard. :D And yes, I do have ideas about the situation. I suppose I'll try to make it here at an earlier time so that I can help. Ya'll had better be getting me Christmas presents now! ;)

Turgons conversation with Lurin was quickly ended, as a huge Half-Orc suddenly opened their cell door. He saw immediatly that the Half-Orc was carrying chains and collars, and a thought of escaping roamed his mind.
Quickly he cast a Magic Missile at the Half-Orc, but found that his Magic did not work in this place. "What the...!," Turgon thought. "It must be a place of dead magic."
Trying to give the Half-Orc a kick in the belly, Turgon was easily overwhelmed. Without much effort, the Half-Orc had soon put him in chains. He saw that Lurin was also taken, and that the unintroduced one was soon to be as well.

They were all three rufly dragged out, and down the corridor. There Turgon saw a new, thin appearance, as well as a female. "Aye, it was her I heard," he thought.
He looked over at the second Elf, who still was unnamed. He saw the look on his face, as if he was searching the room for possible escape-opportunities.
"I doubt it'll work," Turgon whispered to him. "And don't expect much help from me, my magic is not effective in here. If you take the first step, though, I won't refuse to lend you my hand."

Awaiting a reply from the Elf, Turgon now looked over at the female. She was obviously both of Human and Elvish nature. It looked like she had the same thoughts as his cellmate, but that she wouldn't act first. He didn't know what else to do, so he just looked at her, carefully shook his head, and raised his shoulders.

(ooc: ;) Forgive me Starshadow! I never said you were chained in anything but the collars, so I figured you'd understand that, you're standing in a circle around the half-orc, and you never cared to look at the dark man, now did you? You have to be curious IN CHARACTER, my good rogue, I'm not going to tell you everything! ;) I'll tell you now though that his cloak hides any weapons he may have. Now here is your Christmas present from me, :D you big grinch... )

<font color=silver><u>Pathris, Lurin, Turgon, & Skye</u></font>

<font size=4><font color=990000>P</font></font>athris, your search was fruitful. ( A whopping roll of 19 even without bonuses!) If that thug had any weapons on him, you certainly knew about them now. And he had a lot of them! From your angle, directly behind him, you could immediately see a small metal club, half-heartedly hidden by the half-orc's tunic. Then, in the hilt hanging by his side, you noticed a blade which was of the length to be a shortsword. Built into his armor was another scabbard, long enough to stretch over his broad back, that decidedly held an axe of some sort. Finally you end your peerless search by noticing the cleverly hidden dagger in his boot.

<font size=4><font color=990000>T</font></font>he dark man was still peering over his little orb, apparently having trouble reaching the person he needed to talk to. He looked back at the party, tight-lipped, settling his cold, black gaze on each of you individually, lingering on Pathris. He then sighed impatiently and took several long strides down the hall. The half-orc chimed nervously, <font color=silver>"Where you goin'?"</font> The man replied without turning his face to look in your direction again. <font color=silver>"There's a disruption. I think the aura from that cell is effecting my magic too. I'll just try again here..."</font> With that, the dark one, who now seemed to be a spellcaster of some sort, resumed his chanting at the orb.

DarkAngel 12-23-2002 01:33 PM

lurin looked long and hard at the orc looking man. for a while he struggled, but felt the grip of the neck brace tighten. the orc was huge, yet nervous, this made him think, but seeing the weapons on his belt made him think again. ifhe were to escape it would be in one piece. he turned to look at the spell caster, seeing him inanimate he presumed him un able to cast magic. he still did not know who the other elf was, which was troubling him. turgon seemed respectable from first impressions, but he didn't like the look of the unnamed elf. as he was brought forward by the orc he noticed the half-elf. he could not help but feel sorry for her, "the master" obviously had something planned in which he would use her for, which made him wonder as to his own fate.

he could feel the hot air of the orcs breath down the back of his neck, and his heartbeat quicken, why was he scared? obviously in his current position he could easily cause more damage than the prisoners, maybe it was something to do with the master.

lurin thought about their position and let out a laugh, which surprised the orc. he could feel his grip tighten around his chain; the slack contract. he looked towards turgon, if he could find a weapon or unbalence the orc he could turn the tide...he though that if he could surprise the orc with the help of the others he could hold him off long enough to allow turgon into the magical area.

As the spellcaster now seemed to be out of hearing-range, Turgon took his shot. For once he was glad to be the prisoner of a dumb Half-Orc instead of a wise Cleric.
"Excuse me," Turgon said, and looked up at the Half-Orc. It returned his look, and mumbled something about being quiet. Turgon gave a quick wink to the others.
"May I say that it is a pleasure to be a prisoner under you. You seem to be such a good guy. By the way, have I mentioned how beautiful those scars of yours are?" He looked at all of his cellmates, and had to concentrate not to laugh.
"I assume you are the master of this place. No? You should be, you absolutely should.
Just look at that snob of a spellcaster, for an example. What does he do, except standing there and muttering to a stupid orb. You gotta do all the hard work, right? They treat you like shit, don't they, he and his master?
You know, it don't have to be that way. YOU could be in control of everything, YOU could get to boss them around. But in order for that to work, you will need my and my cellmates' help. You see, we are a party, the strongest that have ever excisted. So far, we have kept our identities hid, but if we really start fighting, you won't have a chance. We have slayed Dragons, Demons, and Half-Orcs! Oh, I tell you, we have killed many Half-Orcs.
But we don't want to use our strength to hurt you, because I'm not sure if we can overwhelm you. You seem like such a strong and fearsome creature. And with the plan we have already thought out, we can help you take over the world, and all will be your slaves.
If you just loosen our collars and chains, we WILL help you. Let us free, and you will be the most powerful Half-Orc in the history."
Turgon winked at the Half-Orc, and waited to see if his words had been grand enough.

Lord Starshadow 12-23-2002 04:43 PM

ooc: Actually, I was trying to look at the dark man, and not the half-orc. But I guess this will work. Besides, I was only teasing you. I'm just not used to having question answered as I'm writing. ;) And I was just checking about shackles and stuff because it sounded like Skye was shackled, and I wanted to know the positioning for planning purposes. But thank you anyway. :D

<font color=lightgreen>Pathris' attempt at searching the dark man was thwarted by his positioning behind the half-orc. So instead, he turned his eyes to the half-orc thug. "This guy is a walking army," he thought as his search uncovered all sorts of weapons. "Now, what will I be able to get my hands on...?"

Meanwhile, the dark man had stopped his communication and started to eye them. Pathris met the man's gaze easily while it lingered on him, longer than it was on the others, he noticed. As the man turned to get away from the dead-magic zone, Pathris attempted a search of him as well. He eyed the cloak especially, as he wanted it to cover himself. He felt naked without a cloak.

Next to him, Turgon had begun an attempt to convince the orc to let them go. Pathris was unsure of how effective it would be, but figured that a distraction was a distraction. He whispered to Lurin and the woman in the High Elven dialect, hoping at least one of them knew the language, "The big guy here has a large store of weapons, many of them pretty visible, except for the dagger in his boot. We've got to make sure he doesn't grab one of those if we have to overwhelm him." He couldn't manage anything else in the time that Turgon was talking. He did manage to make a gesture that suggested Lurin use his chain to choke the half-orc, as well, however.</font>

ooc: Okay, let's see how Turgon did.

Killing Spree 12-23-2002 06:03 PM

(ooc: Oi vey Starshadow, you're givin' me a headache now! ;) Skye, whaddya say we get him drunk? :D Then we could trick Toby into attacking him!)

<font color=silver><u>The Party </u></font>
(Roll for Turgon's persuasion. DC 20. Roll gets a +4 due to charisma and +2 for his persuasion skill. Rolling now... Ama lembas! A 17! DANG! All added Turgon's persuasion attempt is a 23. More than enough to charm the half-orc. ;) Good job, pretty boy.)
<font color=990000><font size=4>T</font></font>he half-orc looked at Turgon with a mystified expression for a moment, absorbing all the sorcerer had said. He then nodded with a grunt, <font color=silver>"You real smarts, elfy boy. Very wisen. Caazc, he treat me like dog, n' master treat me like dog guts. Mebbe you help me like you says, and me give you nice presents. Master got much pretty things, you like 'dem, elfy. Here, me releases you. Kill dat fool Caazc first. Your powerfulish magics should good work if yous step a 'ittle ways from da cell."</font> With that, the half-orc took his key and removed the collars from each of you, pointing you toward the wizard. <font color=silver>"First ding you do help me, kill him. He easy kill."</font>

DarkAngel 12-24-2002 11:14 AM

lurin hearing the rogue nodded..he was not concentrating on the other two, and noticed the dark figure of the man, who seemed at this moment in time powerless.

lurin upon feeling the slack began to creep up on the orc, he saw that the orc had let his guard down, and seizing the moment thrust his chains round the orcs neck..his bulging muscles contracted as he used all his force to squeeze..he just hoped he could hold on...

Skydracgrrl 12-24-2002 01:08 PM

ooc- muahahahaha dont tempt me k-spree :D Lord Starshadow, if you think your posts are long, wait til you see some of my posts in some other threads ;) and merry xmas eve everyone!

ic- Skye's eyebrow arched when she heard the elf address her in High Elven, but she looked at him with intelligence, not confusion. She couldn't help smirking when the half-orc released them, telling them to attack the magic user.

When one of the males started to attack the half-orc, she grabbed his arm, hampering him from causing harm to the half-orc. "You fool, we must keep the half-orc on our side for as long as possible, we do not know this area well and he does. He can be useful to us," she hissed at him, low enough that the half-orc couldn't hear. The half-orc was distracted, busy rubbing his throat and making a few gasping noises as he recovered from the sudden attack. Skye addressed the creature. "Please excuse my friend. Being cooped up for so long, he became confused by his surroundings and didn't know what he was doing. Could you tell us anything about that snotty magic user that could give us the advantage? Once we get passed him, it will be easy enough to make YOU the one in charge around here, instead of having that cloaked creature always push you around," she said, waving at the cloaked man who currently had his back to them, mumbling over the orb. Skye hoped by directing the half-orc's attention to the magic user his dull mind would forget the attack upon his person.

While the half-orc was distracted, Skye addressed the first elf softly in High Elven. "Perhaps someone could take away the knife in his boot without him knowing? That would be the easiest weapon for one of us to conceal. We must keep him on our side for as long as possible, it would prove an advantage for us."

ooc- btw, there seemed to be some confusion over whether i was shackled or not. i had been shackled in the cell, but it was removed when the collar was put on my character's neck.
