Id'e like this thread to live on, I am just waiting on peoples' new posts to continue it.

OOC> Sorry about that, AzRaeL. I think we were all waiting on you.
Keporith listens to the plan. It sounds like this Joram has done his homework, but there were still some questions he needed answers to. "It seems you have made very thorough plans. Impressive. Tell me, what do you know of the vault itself? Do you know what type of locking mechanism it uses? Are there any guards posted at or near the vault itself? If so, how many?" "You say there is almost 1200 pounds of gold and magical treasure inside; how do you plan to transport it? Do you have Bags of Holding that may be used, or are you planning some other means of carrying that much loot." "Last - but not least - who will be driving this carriage that will be waiting for us? Will it be one of us or one of your own comrades? If it will be an outsider, how long have you known him or her? Can they be trusted? |
Joram smiles at the informed questions, then studies his comrades faces as he tries to determine how much he can disclose to his fellow theives. "Well the vault itself was made in Calisham by an expert safe craftsman. It is a one of a kind vault with all of the most modern traps and fallbacks. The safe itself is nearly impregnable(sp?). There are approximately 3 thieves in the world with the skills needed to break into that vault, and you are looking at one of them" Joram calmly states. "It should take me approximately 30 minutes to open the safe. The guards will be mostly off duty, but there will be a large number of radom people wandering around the premises. The vault itself has 4 guards stationed there around the clock with more there checking in at radom intervals during the day and night. Unfortunately bags of holding are way to hard to come by these days with the crackdown on magic by those pesky cowled fools." Joram frowns, "therefore we are going to put the merchandies into 4 seperate wine barrels and roll it out to the cart, posing as servants bringing the wine barrels to where the king desires. Only 3 of us will be able sneak into the chamber by the vault, the fourth will have to drive and take care of the coach by which we will transport the goods across town to our contact at the pier. Since there are only 3 of us able to get in to the vault 2 of us will have to make 2 trips to transport the goods out of there while the third stays behind and makes sure we are not discovered." Joram produces a bottle of spirits from under the bed. He takes a long swig and passes it to the halfling since he is the closest one to him. "The plan is far from fool proof like most large scores are. But we do have two days more for planning and rounding up the materials we will need to pull it off. As for the guards in the chamber with the vault, you can leave those to me." Joram looks at his fellow thieves waiting for more questions/concerns, and to be passed the bottle again.
OOc: im trying to run this whole thread with a minimum of magical items/spells used. These are just pretty average, but smart theives looking to pull off a big job. |
"Leave the guards to us." SecretMaster says, pointing to Joven and himself. "Your taking the liberty in cracking the safe, us two can get the guards and what else. We'll let no one get to you. And I'll disarm all alarms, traps and stuff. Leave it to us. Unless you got any objections."

Meanwhile in a room at the royal palace a meeting between the royal chancellor and the Captain of the Guard is taking place.
"It is the will of the King that the guard shall be doubled for the upcomming event - there are many, many important people comming, and the King will not tolerate any disturbance during the fistivies. Half the men shall be dressed for parade duty and ....." "Half for parade duty" the Captian interrupts "How am I supposed to get that many paradeuniforms at such notice?" "As I was saying before you interrupted me - Half the men for parade duty - the rest to control crime. There has been far to many thefts and robberies lately - and It will reflect badly upon YOU Captain, should any of our guests loose any possesions while they are residing under this roof. AND the paradeuniforms are your responsibility - not mine - do not try to avoid your duties" "Can I at laest choose which men go on parade and which go on regular duty?" "No you may not - I will not have some unshaved, stinking oafs loafing about at the parade - this calls for keen, young upstanding men." The Captain grins "Then we're in agreement - the rookies for the parade and my veterans for patrol duty" OOC: The Captain is a veteran himself - and he will do anything in his power to unhold his duty. EDIT: BINKY posted his post while I was writing mine - but after reading it and comparing them I see no real discrepensies - so I guess Joram will have two advesaries in the Castle. P.S. The Captain will not be a direct advesary - he will simply direct the actions of the guard (at least thats how I vision him at the moment. [ 05-11-2002, 04:50 PM: Message edited by: Ar-Cunin ] |

OOC: I dont see a problem with more than one NPC rivals. the avariel can direct the actions of himself and the elite guards or what not and the capatin of the guards can control the actions of all the other guards and such.
If you all have any problem with that then PM me and we can work something else out, if not then RP on |
OOC>>> Ok! I Think Avariels Are Good To Play As They Are Different From The Normal Races! Ok, I'm Fine With That. I'll Have The Four Elites. Weimer, Steiner, Haggen And Blutzen
