I love the idea of roleplaying as Robin Hood and as Rincewind. I'd be interested to find out what other existing fictional characters people have tried to roleplay. Harry Potter might be interesting. Harry, Ron, Hermionie as Human Mages (not sure which kits) of varying intelligence. Hagrid (Half Orc Ranger). Sirrus Black (Fighter/Druid so he can transform into an animal) and perhaps Gilderoy Lockhart as a rather useless Bard. Harry Ron and Hermionie would be barred from perfroming any of the unforgivable curses, i.e. no Death Type Spells, no torture spells and no mind control spells.

I like, I like! Harry could be a Sorcerer, though: he seems to have powers that come from within. As to no Enchantments or Necromancy, make one of them an Invoker and the other an Illusionist. Unfortunately, the party lacks a thief. Any thoughts on who that could be? -- Nifft, pro-thief |

Of course, he and Sirius would immediately kill each other. I dunno... use Shadowkeeper to make Crookshanks? He seems rather good at sneaking around (DOH) ;) |

WHAT DO MY EYES BEHOLD....None other than....the great masterpiece of Sam Raimi and Bruce Cambell...my heart goes boom boom...Could it really be, No, Yes, No, Yes...Shut up it is MAD MAX...NOoooooooo!
...Ashīs back and with that chainsaw heīs gonna rip a freaking hole in the damned creatures that lurks behind every corner of his life. ARMY OF DARKNESS RULES BTW I find the idea of going solo through the game without memorizing a single spell to be rather bold...but I do not see how finding a spell like fireball makes things easier then....It could only save U ONE time anyway...Right A force of righteous and Sparhawk clenched his teath as he was battling with the five trollgods... |
My brother has asked me to make the crew (the guys from the discworld including foul o'l ron and so on) i'm gonna use some sort of air elemental for foul o'l rons stink but i'm just wondering how to do the guy with a duck on his head.

i wonder if i can beat the game with my solo wizard rincewind on insane difficulty without ever memorising a single spell (after all, thatīs the problem rincewind had in the discworld... i will use scrolls etc though).

Well as you will recall, his problem wasn't that he couldn't memorize spells, it was that he had a REALLY BIG one taking up all the room in his brain for them... Remember? When he was a student at the Unseen University, he went into the Octavo's room and read a spell, which then leapt into his brain and stayed there, kicking out any other spells that tried to come in. Also its worth noting that during the time in which Coin the Sorcerer was changing the world with his magic, Rincewind was able to perform magic. |
sorry for not updating you, but nothing much had happened - busy irl, but now itīs official: RINCEWIND IS INVINCIBLE!
i earned a bit of money with the druid quest without much fighting(thank the gods for invisibility scrolls! shame i canīt use the shield of harmony... itīs absolutely priceless in a solo game), got myself the cloak of the sewers (which was a MAJOR pain in the neck). grr, if i could only afford a girdle of giant strenght... instead, i bought a selection of scrolls and a rogue stone. after all, if one thing can make a wizard without spells playable, itīs the staff of the magi (obviously i saved before the encounter... and had to reload several times). protection of magic and potection of undead took care of shangalar, a few summoned monsters (skeletons, spiders and minor elementals) got rid of the fighter and the beholder while it was in vain trying to use its powers against me... which left me a big mean nasty vampire and a wizard that wouldnīt win the miss nice of the year award either to deal with. i sacrificed my summoned critters to lure the vampire out of the main chamber (did i mention that protection from undead is just too useful?) and just stood there grinning as the pit fiend ate its summoner (i needed to get rid of the vamp because it would have drained the fiend to death in a couple of hits). the staff should make things a lot easier because of invisibility at will... but iīm desperate for some money (for wands, scrolls, a half-brick-in-a-sock +4 and a girdle of giant strength). |

The Canting Crew: Foul Ole Ron. human, with a Smell attached. like dogs. hangs around with gaspode. Gaspode, dog, brightest of the crew, with the ocasional exception of Altogether Andrews. Coffin Henry, human, nobody can spit and ooze like coffin henry. Duck Man, human+duck. The best member of the crew at conistently thinking in a straight line. could pass for normal except for the duck on his head. Altogether Andrews, psychicaly colonized human. inhabited by 8 personalities : Jossi, Lady Hermione, Little Syddney, Mr Viddle, Curly, The Judge, Tinker and Burke. Five of these can hold a coherent conversation. Nobody presently inhabiting Andrews answers to the name Andrews. Arnold Sideways, Legless human. Got his legs amputated in an accident with a wagon, now deadly in a pub brawl due to boot-on-a-stick and good teeth at groin hight. Well, there are six of them, but as to what class to make them or what stats to give them, I havent a clue. I dont think d&d was made for such as the Canting Crew. |
What Duck?
Making a party of the Canting Crew sounds like an interesting idea, but can anyone suggest a class for Foul Ole Ron. I quote 'He was a beggar in a class of his own, if only because no one will share it with him' Perhaps a watch party would be interesting. Nobby could be a fighter/low level thief Carrot, obviously a paladin Angua a druid(shapeshifter)/fighter No ideas for Vimes or Colon though. Detritus could be a half orc beserker though. |
