Elminsters sage is a guy he keeps locked in the basement of the tower for sex, you see it was one of Greenwoods better days.

Other notable days were when Greenwood did a purge of people at TSR who werent loyal to Elminster. If you tried to argue that he dosnt actually exist you were summarily executed and your head he posted to your family. Disloyalyty to his charecter is the one thing that will get him away from the magical stat machine he uses on Elminster all day.
