No, Dave was explaining WHY you are not allowed to keep Drizzt's items. In other words, they take the items away from you in BG2.

ToB has been available for preorder for weeks at some sites. It's been up at amazon.com and chumbo.com as well as Interplay's store. I ordered mine last week from Chumbo.com as they were around $5 (US) less than the Interplay store and Amazon.com.
