Lesser elementals are level 6 spells (all three of them); greater elemental spells are level 7 (all three of them).

Ok, good to know, not that I use them much anyway. ------------------ http://publish.hometown.aol.com/tobb...s/11400306.jpg Hmmmmmm...Yes, that must be it |
It could have been more complicated. At least they didn't bother with Para- and Quasi-elementals. It was bad enough having mephits from the same planes (e.g., area between Water and Negative plane was Plane of Salt)
Also not included were elementals from Castle Greyhawk module (Coca Cola, Diet Lemonade, etc.) Fight an elemental on a caffeine rush! |
I'm rather partial to earth elementals. I made an innate ability to shift into an earth elemental at will. Cool stuff. And it is +1 weapons or higher.

My vote goes to Earth elemental.

One thing that someone could do is summon different elementals and order them to attack one another. Of course, this would be limited; it would not be indicative of other tactical aspects. If anyone tries this, I suggest keeping your party members out of sight so the fight doesn't spill over to them.

I used an air elemental once and it got wasted quick. Possibly i used it
at the wrong time but none the less it was the last time i used it. I used the earth a few times and didn't care for it either. On the other hand greater fire elementals single handedly cleared a few dungeins for me. Although not an elemental (maybe close though) and not a spell summoned creature, I liked the shambling mounds too. ------------------ http://www.angelfire.com/rpg/wildleprechaun/3.gif Balance |
Druidic Fire Elementals rule! I have seen them simply mow through otherwise tough monsters (Beholders, Beholder Kin, non-demi liches, vamps etc.). Never tried them on a dragon though. I think I should introduce them to a certain reddish lizard http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...iles/smile.gif. I am not so fond of MU summoned ellementals and my cleric summoned aerial servants always have a much shorter lifespan than the druidic FE's whenever I have to fight a lich.
