I've been playing a monk for a time(lvl 14), i thought he needed some offensive until i got the quivering palm. The no-armor thing doesn't bother me, but i think he's to defensive.

I don't think ill ever play the druid, i guess the cleric is better, but i like Cernd ALOT. Shapeshifting Greater Werewolf i so cool.

Sorcerers seem a very good class at first and that why a lot of people try them
It's just then when they find out they actually suck

Hm Abjurers should be populair with italians (Catanatio)

Ertai, Wizard Adept 01-02-2001 06:53 PM

Barbarians should be able to wield two handed swords with one hand- at the cost of damage. similar to Diablo ][. Then they would be DEFINITELY better than the normal fighter. Also I think that all the fighter classes SUCK, the berserker is almost a normal fighter, the wizard slayer sucks and the kensai is the only one that might be acceptable.
And why isnt there an ANTI PALADIN ?????

Rikard T'Aranaxz 01-02-2001 07:06 PM

hm
please say Diablo II
diablo ][ reminds me of azreall and he was evil

Zoratorak 01-02-2001 07:55 PM

i wuz wonderin ... Erati mentioned where is the anti-paladin... hmm... SHadowknight?? its one of the characters in everquest (its a game) i wonder why its not here in bg2... there should be an opposite in every class right??
for a useless mage... why not divination... man what can you do when an orc is gonna slash you... nothin... "whack" your dead (if your gonna use divination spells only)

For me it would have to be the Wizard Slayer, maybe the Totemic druid, basically a class which is too specialised in one area, I like a wide variety (I am Fighter/Mage)
I am willing to give most classes a go (and haven't played that many), so that is not much to go on...
I would rather Druid over Cleric, for the Roleplaying aspect...
Also, the theif is sort of more something which i think is covered in the NPC's of the game, though I think an assassin would be appealing, Backstab, and theiving abilities...

Bahamut 01-02-2001 10:15 PM

Can barbarians really get over 200 HP with core rules? I think the only disadvantage of the Barbarian is the Specialization factor and AC right?

smaug 01-02-2001 10:47 PM

every class is played by someone. what you like is a opinon. but the class i would be least likly to play is prop priest of lavendor

Bahamut 01-02-2001 10:51 PM

smaug, if I asked what you liked, it would be basic, I asked about the least being used in their opinion....

Someone should create a party of these reject classes, or get together a multiplayer one.
Wizard slayer
Barbarian
Pure thief
Diviner
Totemic druid
Any cleric kit

The pure thief will probably remain the least effective in combat.
