Let's see... in 2nd edition games, Baldurs Gate I and II, and Icewind Dale, (Not sure about II) thieves have only been able to use crossbows in BG II.

It's been a long, long time since I played BGI without ToSC or BaldurDash, but I don't think I can recall straight Thieves ever being unable to use Light Crossbows.

I have BG + TOTSC and in my game thieves cant uses any type of cross bow. But there is a glitch I think that allows my thief Imoen (not duel-class) to use the light crossbow of speed (can buy from the taerom fuerom in Beregost). It says for the light crossbow of speed that thieves can't use it.

Okay, can we all start banging our heads against the wall now?

Does anyone know if BaldurDash has ANYTHING to say about this issue?

thieves can use light crossbows, i have had imoen on one for several turns and she seems to thrive on the light crossbow, however u get more speed out of a regular bow, also if you are using crossbows, especially those with enchantments, you need to check their requirements before u equip them
