How's that? I haven't even created her yet.

I would make her a little less friendly (Cha to 6) and max Dex at 20
Also unless you play in the "heart of fury" mode, the level you reach by the end of the game will probably be something like 18-20ish with 4 party members. |
Yeah, no way you can reach L30 in any regular mode of play, even with a short party. And keep in mind your Drow will be behind everyone else because of the 2 level penalty.

Definitely go with the Ranger/Rogue. Everytime you take a Ranger level, you can throw the skill points into hide & move silently & search, among others. Every time you take a Rogue level, throw the skill points into the other Rogue skills (open locks & disarm device). You could probably get away with a 3/1 or 4/1 Ranger/Rogue ratio and still have an effective Ranger/Rogue.
On the Monk/Cleric multiclass: 1. As stated above, the "Arcane Castine Failure %" only pertains to arcane magics, not divine (i.e. cleric or druid) magic. 2. You might be able to get away with the monk/cleric mix, but the monk WIS AC bonus will be far less than you'd get from wearing good armor. There's simply no benefit for a cleric not wearing armor. You might have some perfectly legit role-playing reasons and that's up to you. If you really want to play a monk/cleric, you might want to consider taking 2 or 3 levels. I think that at level 2, a monk gets Deflect Arrows feat free. And at level 3, he gets Still Mind (+2 to savings throws against enchanment spells) and increased speed. Something to consider. Unless this is for roleplaying reasons, I'd strongly suggest going with a single class cleric. Those last few levels will give you some very useful high level cleric spells that IMHO cannot be balanced with a small handful of monk levels (Mass Heal comes to hind ;) ). Also, since you already have 2 tanks (ie. the Ranger/rogue and your barb), a high DEX cleric sniper sounds pretty good to me. |
I do have an Idea though... Monk/Sorcerer would be pretty nice... High Charisma, Wisdom and Dexterity... and its even possible with the Monk Order that allows it. Then you would have an arcane spell caster without armor...

Best combo is ranger/rogue/fighter in my opinion. Just get 10 levels of rogue and keep level difference between fighter and ranger levels just 1. For ex, 10 rogue, 4 fighter, 3 ranger.
Why 10 rogue levels? Because of slippery mind and improved evasion featssss!!! one more thing, cripling strike, hamstring, arterial strike are all useless IMO! |

I'm thinking to make a rogue/fighter that I will go through HOF with couple fellows (druid and cleric). I'm in the normal mode in the 5th chap and the druid is now level 20 and the cleric is 15. Druid 20 means level 9 spells and level 9 spells mean elemental legion and summon monster IX. :D And the cleric is casting the protection from evel 10' radius(?).
When I've played the HOF, I'll solo the normal game with my rogue/fighter. Tell me if I should make it rogue/ranger/fighter or something like that. And tell me how to put stats. I thought that I'll put 18/20/18/16/3/3. I'ts horribly min-maxed but I'll forgive myself... I don't RP by those stats. I think her as an intelligent, wise, charismatic and a hell of a good fighter Well, tell me how to put the stats so I can speak myself throught the game. And what stat should I raise when I level up. |
To tell some more about her...
I'll make her a wild elf and she will use 2 daggers. Or if I find some über short swords, I'll use them. I know that daggers aren't the best weapons available but I want a fragile looking rogue that owns you in a sec with her two daggers if you underestimate her |
