The graduation ceremony in the mages stronghold.

May include a few minor spoilers
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * In spellhold, the battle with bodhi and what was his name, lonk the sane. lonk didnt seem like the sharpest guy did he? And bodhi, id pay a million bucks to see her face when the pc character turns into a slayer. she had to go "inform irenicus about it", yea right. doesent take a genius to figure out she fled head over heels at the sight. also Tiax is a rather comical guy in spellhold. Come to think of it, Spellhold is a rather funny place. These may not be the Funniest parts of the game, but the best ones were already taken. |
"That really doesn't make much sense at all!"
"Then it is more than i could've hoped for from a room of the maddened dead!" |
Don't know how i forgot this. I was playing through Big Red's dungeon recently and remembered the troll chef. Chatting with him is much more fun than killing him.
"Honestly, it's just too hard to find food that co-operates nowadays." |
My favorite part of the whole game was nalia's keep. It is so well crafted and harkened me back to the days of pen and paper D&D. Chests, rooms with secret doors, a basement dungeon, a miserable noblewoman ..... ah, the nostalgic feel of it all.

goto be doing 1048 points of damage to Lassel with daystar.

lol, i too an quite aware of how great that is to kill Bohi with one simple spell:)

Using assassination skill to backstab repeatedly in the face Drizzt, the evil bastard drow. Lots of warm fuzzies from that one...

Destroying Firkraag as a lowly solo Archer after a 45minute battle involving 23 Potions of Extra Healing, many many, many arrows and wearing the soles ut of my Boots of Speed. Aye, twas a long battle, but to see that huge hulking mass of unstable chemicals wrapped in a giant winged, scaly suit of near inpeneratable armour just makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
Also beating Irenicus only with arrows in Hell. |
The mass-combat battles in ToB, without a doubt. Serious gaming challenge, battle of resources and management, excellent.
The first one - attacking Yaga Shura's army - has a very 'Seven Samurai' feel to it. You really start to understand just how HARD you and your party are and I got a nice warm feeling of a job well-done. The second - the battle with Sendai's slaves in her fortress. Less for the battle, but more for the cutscene later; the one where news of an intruder is brought to Sendai, and she laughs it off. Until, that is, the stammering messenger tells her the intruder is Gorion's Ward - and she becomes very very serious about the situation. Perhaps a little hysterical... It's nice to find someone who gives you a bit of credit, no? Tanc |
