But how can you get the combo?
Unfortunately, F/C/T is NOT a valid multiclass in BG2.
So, if we want to wear Jan's armor, we need to be:
A. Jan :D ... And Jan can't cast Hardiness.
B. Bard or Thief with Use Any Item.

So, if we are at B, in order to cast Hardiness, we must be F/T or F/M/T. Thus, no AoF. On the other hand, if we CAN cast AoF, we must be C/T, and thus, no Hardiness.
So?
How can we reach invulnerability?

I don't get it...
Maybe i just missed something... Or maybe i'm just too tired... :D
It's 4:12 AM in here, so i have an excuse ...
Good night!

ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz....

Gah! I hate it when I am wrong!

I read wrongly and saw the F/M/C as a F/T/C... ...

Thus... the Fighter/Cleric will make full use of the DoE then. Note though... Paladins and Fighter/Clerics can attain 85%. Evil Fighter/Clerics can get 110%.

DoE 20%
AoF 25%
Hardiness 40% -> 85%
Mods 25% (for evil only) -> 110%

If you throw in the helmet, all of them will attain maximum resistance to crushing attacks.

Apologies to Lord Lothar for my earlier mistake.

Dundee Slaytern 08-21-2002 03:04 AM

Oh, and by the way. Do fists deal crushing damage?

Alson 08-21-2002 08:41 AM

Yes.

Ok, now it makes sense...

And... Don't feel bad Dundee... You're allowed to make one mistake per month... :D

Damn! I was looking forward to trying a F/T/C :( ! I was sure it was a legit combo too until I just checked.

I just remembered Haer'Dalis has 15% immunity to physical damage being a tiefling, so he could use the DoE and Jans armour to gain permanent 60% resistance which is pretty cool. If you equip Ronarch's Horn, this will make him permanently immune to crushing weapons. Is that a room full of golems or elementals? oh joy!

I see you're closing in on the big 5000 Dundee :D

Another interesting possibility is the BMU.....the Shapeshifting Table at GameBanshee has a description of the Iron Golem, who has 20% Resistance to all physical damage. Since the BMU pretty much turns you into an Iron Golem, we could take a Paladin and add
B.M.U.: 20%
DoEasthaven: 20%
AoFaith: 25%
Hardiness: 40%
------------------
105%, without the Barbarian. Not only that, but check out the Iron Golem's Magic Resistance, Magic Damage Resistance, and Elemental Resistance: They're all in the neighborhood of 80% to 127%. Oh, my lordy lord!

Lord Lothar 09-13-2002 08:22 PM

Doesn't the BMU just make you look like an iron golem? I don't think it gives you resistances.

I don't know, I've never had it made. Still, though, it's definitely worth a shot!
