whats this Del business? I know there is a Del Vampire in the game... is someone making a mod out of the character or summin?

Actually, I was referring to the Delainy mod over at Gibberlings 3. Sorry if I confused you.

Hmm. Didn't realize Boomerang and Firetooth had anything special besides + to hit and damage... probably because they're the only throwing daggers I've ever used.

Six,

I totally understand where you are coming from. I find it both amusing and ... scary really, that my THIEF is doing around 15 damage (god i hope im remembering right) each hit with the boomerang dagger. I also saw that the damage per round was 2d4, but thought nothing of it at the time.

Can you think of a reason as to why these throwing daggers would have this damage adjustment on them? Seeing as they are the only two throwing daggers (that i know of, forgive me if im wrong) I just assumed that it must be par for the course for all enchanted throwing daggers to be this enchanted. Can anyone who actually knows what they are talking about (ie, not me) confirm this?

Id just like to say WOOHOO my first post has 23 replies lol! I cant believe it, especially considering the subject. :-D Ill stop being a proud fool now.... or until my next post gets no replies

Spanks.

How is it going to return to you if it's not enchanted? I want me one of them non-magic boomarang daggers IRL.

By the way, really glad to hear you made it to Chapter 4 with TDD. I've recently finished the game with this mod, myself. Did you end up finishing the game with TDD, and are you still using it? If so, is your knife-bearer a kit from the mod, and what is the base class (fighter or rouge)?

Dave_the_quack 09-07-2004 11:34 AM

HEYA HANK!

Lol... Dr Dave? Fair enough... but then again, ill respond to anything.

I dunno, the enchanted bit was just in case there was like a normal throwing dagger that returns to you. lol. Shuddup! I know in IWD there were several "non-enchanted" arrows that returned after they were fired.

Although, Ive always wondered how gross they would look on the return... ughh...

Note: by non-enchanted I mean no bonus to THACO or damage.... does that make more sense? Or were you just having a big ole dig at me

A knife bearer's base class is the rogue, thief to be exact. In order to get the kit to activate make sure your character is a halfling ;)

Not a bad class I dont think... but yeah I dont like the idea of having a single theif. Im probably going to do my chronic restart thing ALL over again.

On a final note, yeah I finished SOA with it, couldnt be bothered taking it further into TOB... my character was just too powerful. A pit-fighter ==> thief ended up having around 200 hp... and with slow regen thats outrageous lol. And yes, im planning on keeping the mod installed, me likes me likes!

Yay. I was tooling around in TDD again recently, on the Return To Candlekeep mega-quest which happens after you defeat Irenicus in Hell, but before you transition into ToB. It's at the very end of the SoA game, so you have to make it that far if you want to encounter the final quests of TDD. So don't restart this time!

"Quack" is an old slang term for a Doctor.

It's a deadlier version of Darts of Wounding. If memory serves me well, you cannot avoid the poison damage from Asp's Nests via saves, so you got to have Poison Immunity to counter it.

However, Asp's Nests are exceedingly rare, especially when you consider how fast you can use up Darts.
