You can do a few Lower Resistances, but the target still gets a save verse death at either -2 or +2, I forget which. That is why casting greater malison as well will help do the trick.

Vorpal Effects still work on Golems (or at least my Planetar could OHKO one), so a possible tactic could be to Lower Resistance it, Greater Malison, then try numerous Chromatic Orbs or Finger of Deaths. Or just Magic Missile it to death.

Anyone know if something is immune to magical, and you cast a Finger of Death at it, will it still need to save, or will it not have to because the first bit failed?
That's what I'm talking about. =/ You first Lower Resistance a few times. Then you Greater Malison or Doom it. Then you cast Chromatic Orb or Finger of Death.

What I am asking is if: Say, an enemy is immune to magical damage. Finger of Death does magical damage. Therefore, will the death effect be negated along with the magical damage, or will the victim still have to save in order to survive?

</font>[/QUOTE]No. The death effect is what comes first, and that is not magic damage. If the target makes their saving throw, then it attempts to do magical damage to them. If the target also has magicl damage resistance, then it's possible that they won't take any damage either.

best spell...animate dead...and improved haste or haste the skeleton warrior...

Ares 01-03-2004 06:03 PM

Skeletons from AD only have +1 swords though, correct? Therefore they couldn't possibly do damage to the Adamantite Golem because they can't hit it.

Assassin 01-03-2004 06:30 PM

Damage as +1, hit as +3, IIRC.

Skeleton Warriors that occur as Random Spawns are equipped with 2-Handed Swords+1, which they drop.

Skeleton Warriors that are summoned via Animate Dead, however (yours or the enemy's), wield 2-Handed Swords+3, and drop no loot.

Oh.

Serves me right for contradicting someone more knowledgeable than I.
