It is plausible that they are more concerned, right now, with the hopes of stoping the leak/spill/gusher before they worry about cleaning up. What's the point of the mop if you're still bleeding out of a major artery?

His visit was on May 2nd. He then visited again, recently. He spent longer recently. But he visited previous to this date. That's how a president rolls, get on top of shit ASAP. To paraphrase you, it is hard to have an honest conversation when you don't know the facts. I will end it on this note, proving you wrong once again. Would you like to apologize now or later?

I Ain't afraid to man up and admit I was wrong, President Obama's first visit was on day 12. Apologize for what? Facts lol rich one there, when you came out and deliver this "Obama's Katrina" Crap when I never even metioned or compared the oil spill to katrina. I compared it to the Exxon Valdis. Then you acuse me of being bias... based on your own bias it will be a cold day in Hale before I apologize to you.

I would like to assume that there's a valid reason to not deploy the Costner Oil Bubble Sucking Device. However, if there IS such a reason, wouldn't it be in the government's best interests, from a PR perspective, to let us know what it is?

If there is foot dragging, I would like to assume that the reasons for it are valid. Again, why have they not been known? As John pointed out, what's worse than oil?

In SW's defense, it's understandable to be a bit sensitive to attacks on the current administration. From 2000-2005ish, you couldn't say ANYTHING bad about Bush without hearing "THIS IS A TIME OF CRISIS AND YOU CAN'T SAY ANYTHING BAD ABOUT THE PRESIDENT BECAUSE YOU STAND BY HIM." The pundits who were screaming that not too long ago seem to have forgotten that. I'm not a fan. But Fox News has pretty much conditioned an irritation response in a lot of us. Anyway, the point I was trying to make is that this isn't some artificial "issue" cooked up by Murdoch and Company. This is an actual crisis, and if the admin's not up to snuff, why shouldn't they be called out on it?

Wise words and thunking Illumina, I would like to think there was valid reasons too, I have a hard time thinking there are when things weren't being done because they had to wait for EPA oks. Freaking aye we're talking oil here spreading all over the Gulf. I got friends who may not make through this year because of the Oil spreading. BP is 100% at fault for the oil spill, But sitting around and watching the oil spreading is a horse of a differant color.

I understand the: you couldn't say ANYTHING bad about Bush without hearing "THIS IS A TIME OF CRISIS AND YOU CAN'T SAY ANYTHING BAD ABOUT THE PRESIDENT BECAUSE YOU STAND BY HIM." line of reasoning there Illumina. There was other side of that coin, there was a whole lot of defense for disagreeing with that President at that time that isn't being extended to to disagreeing with this President by those who disagreed with Bush. I had no problem with disagreeing with President Bush. I had a problem with what was said, not that it could or couldn't be said.

True if the Federal Governement was the ones doing the "trying to stop the leak" But they have left that to BP, right or wrong, they have left it to them. So while BP is trying to stop the leak why not be out there and try to clean up and prevent the oil from washing ashore? To me that is like a reciever waiting until the quarterback throws the ball before he starts running his post route. No you start running your post route as soon as the ball is hiked, so you'll be were the ball is after the quarterback throws it.

Well, apologize because you were wrong and ran with it in an insane way, going as far as to ask me how much money I wanna bet. You were so confident in your Fox News report that you went out on a limb with it, and lost. Furthermore, even when conceding that you messed up, you try to rant about something entirely different. I mean, you can't possibly expect people to take you seriously after a stunt like this can you? They gotta be second-guessing every claim you make.

I think your bias is getting in the way again, personally. Don't be so desperate to paint this as "Obama's Katrina" as the talk radio whackos are attempting to do (mind you, they are not succeeding because people actually realize the man cares). This is bigger than that for all of us. BP fuxxed it up and BP need to fix it. In contrast, no company caused hurricane Katrina yet that mess is STILL broken because of Bush. I shook my head in wonder when, years later, poor Obama had to talk to the Katrina victims because Bush ignored them. No, this is apples and oranges.

The above is a reply to my post:

From what I understand the device has been working for several years, designed specifically to seperate oil from water in the case of a spill. They have a factory and have been producing the final product for some time done all the testing to make sure the device works ie: it doesn't blow up, it seperates oil from water, in other words it's been checked out and market ready. From what I understand it is a Centrifuse and seperates liquid based on specific wieght. What kind of enviromental damage can it do? suck up a few fish? or a sea turtle or two? I can sure see how killing a few fish would be worse then letting an entire ecological system get damaged, like the salt marshes of the Mississippi delta where 1,000's if not 10,000's of fish are killed and their breeding grounds distroyed for years.

I'd bet dollars to dougnuts that why it has taken so long is the Administration, in their own words; "didn't want a crisis to go to waste". They thought that BP would have it undercontrol in a few days then they could come in afterwards and Say see we need to stop drilling look at all the damage. Well that thinking has casued a disaster many times worse then it would have been. When the Exxon Valde ran aground, then President Bush (41) after 11 days steped in and the Feds took over. It's now 39 days, president Obama didn't even visit until 37 days had passed, the EPA has drug it's feet for several weeks, thworting the Gov. Jindle (sp?) for nearly 3 weeks now... with this happy horse manure about having to have an enviromental impact statement for dredging and RE-BUILDING the barrer Islands that where destroyied by Hurricane Katrina. Sure nature will re-build the islands but Nature takes it's sweet time, Oil being washed into the marshes is happening NOW. Hales Bells all we have heard about since the Exxon Oil spill was how bad oil is and it will destroy everything!!!!!! Now we got the same people that scream about the evils of oil, saying oh wait we have to take our time cleaning the oil up because there could be something worse then OIL. Spank my rear end and paint it purple if that isn't the stupidest, self serving, political agenda pushing GDBS I've ever hear of.

Accidents happen, but what is inexcusible is the feet dragging! The most furtile fishing grounds in the USA are being damaged beyond what anyone can comprehend because of slow cleanup. All the little fishes, birds, and precious sea turtles that are going to die can be place squarely at the feet of the Obama adminstration's lack of response. all the Jobs lost the damage to the economy. I hope you folks like white fish, you know Mrs. Pauls fish sticks, because you can kiiss the majority of Shrimp, oyster, grouper, red fish, Mackeral good bye for several years. All because we have to study and see if re-building (helping nature) the barrer Islands will cause more damage then the oil destroying the largest WET LAND in the USA.

You clearly did acuse me of Bais, therefore bringing it up is relavant. Nowhere NO how did I compare the oil spill to Katrina, the only mention of Katrina was the the barrer Islands had been destroied in the storm.... but you went to "Obama's Katrina"..... hmmmm hmmm sounds like... what was that phrase you used... OH yeah....

would you care too.... I mean will you man up and answer your own question?

It wasn't on Fox news that I heard anything about the date, I had gotten date of President Obama's first press conference this year confused with his first visit, from the locale radio's normal news cast... I was out in production working the two stories were back to back.

Oh and by the way I didn't ask you how much money you wanted to bet, I ask if you wanted to bet, there was no amount of money mentioned. Sounds to me like you're upset that you jumped the gun and didn't make some money for yourself. What's the old saying about folks and their money soon being parted? I didn't lose any money, but YOU did lose the opportunity to make money :P

Oh, I assumed when you mentioned a bet, you referred to money, as most people do when they bet. What betting currency do you use then? I'll bet you five AM-Radios, how about that? But yes, I am mad that I missed the opportunity to take your money. I wanted some of that "going off the grid" cash you were saving. But wait, if I took that...you wouldn't go off the grid.

As for Katrina and bias and w/e else you're ranting about today, what are you talking about? I am still stuck on you messing up and vanishing for a week because you got owned. Let's stay focused.
