He dashes into the tavern, his eyes half popping out from worry. Rushing up to Winthorp, he demands ~ "Have you seen Kira?" ~ Grabbing the collar of the barkeep and shaking it agitatedly ~ "Have you?"

<font color=white>"You'll lift your filthy hands off me before I even care to listen to a word you say!" ~ Winthorp roars angrily. Without waiting for another response, he flings the elf's hands away in one forceful push, sending the elf sprawling onto the ground ~ "I'd watch my next words carefully if I were you... elfling."</font>

<font color=yellow>The tavern is suddenly silent at the commotion as the indignant elf picks himself off the ground, wincing in pain as he rubs his bottom tenderly. Then, a few chuckles at the last motion before the soft whispers gradually louden into the usual throngs of tavern talk.</font>

"I... I am looking for my... lady companion. Kira." ~ Jen's musical voice falters as he hears the snickers and boos from what little audience he has ~ "She has run away from home, somehow... without leaving a message..." ~ Suddenly halting, his voice breaks off and he plops onto a chair, very much dejected.

Lost in his own worries, he fails to notice the strange looking pair seated beside him.</font>

SIR BLANDAMOUR (To Lilyblack) "Indeed, milady, gratitude for an unsought favor is at best an uncomfortable feeling. I would do you a boon, for no other reason than your beauty and my regard for our mutual superior, whom Helm aid. But, I do not 'lend' my esquire to anyone as if she were a bondswoman to be bought and sold. I have duties to her as well as she to me, to protect her and teach her the skill of arms. I do not think that your proposal would fit into either of those, so, regretfully, my answer is no. Ask another boon of me, one that lies within my duty."

<font color=gray> LILYBLACK(Smile vanishes) "Oh, then perhaps you will tell me where a real gentleman is around here, one that understands gratitude. Never mind! You shall see me another day, perhaps in worse circumstances." (She looks into a lens and disappears)</font>

<font color=white>LADY GALADRIA (to Eliza) "Hmmph. I see little that one so slight as you could have done to yon, as powerful as she is. Yet, you were a princess, once. Could you have done something to her, back when power was yours? Something that she resents to this day? What of the scar on her face? Could you have done ought of that?" (to Isaura and Sorsha) "You two knew her of old, before I met her. Did she do such as that?"

Not that I'll do much posting for a while yet, as this day is as good as over, tomorrow's my Bday and the day after I'll have a lot of posts to catch up with...
Just scanning things through it looks as though there's been a lot of activity, both IC- and OOC-wise (almost ready for the 12th chapter, quite an accomplishment [img]graemlins/thumbsup.gif[/img] ), and I see we've got a new player [img]smile.gif[/img]

SIR BLANDAMOUR (Pats Eliza reassuringly) "Now, there's a good girl. Get a hold on yourself. Lilyblack is on our side. Well, if everyone is well-rested, :rolleyes: , let us go." (Mounts Shaitann, and Eliza mounts her palfrey obediently. They set off.)

(Meanwhile, deep in a cave near Breakbone Pass, a set of orc messily devour a stew made of an old woman, while one of the littler ones dances around in her bloody dress, making what he thinks are human cries of distress.)
