Re: Fall 2009 Design Contest

So I was getting my demo ready to upload and aside from realizing that I had missed doing a portrait and the credits graphic, I realized that the trap and secret passage are left out of the demo! D'oh!

It seems kind of counter-intuitive to release a design that is supposed to showcase a trap and a secret passage, and the then not include them in the demo. :( I guess I'm going to get low marks indeed. ;)

Re: Fall 2009 Design Contest

My contest entry is now up. :) Only 4 days late... ;)

I've also updated Olivier's and Budzo's with the most recent files that I have - I believe Olivier's entry to be complete and hope that Budzo's is.
Budzo's tutorial is also uploaded.

Just a note to all non-competitors - after we're finished with judging, the link will be opened to the public for your enjoyment.

(Even competitors that haven't finished yet may download and play the entries...Uatu and Rosestar...)

I have just send a personal message to all contestants in the FRUA forum, containing the link to my tutorial...

Thanks! :)

If you don't mind, could you send me your design via e-mail as you suggested at the FRUA forum or post it here? Maybe I am a little paranoid concerning yahoo, but I would prefer not to subscribe there. :(

I downloaded Budzo's design from this forum, and it works fine as far as I can tell.

I will email it to you. :) I'll try now, but sometimes I have to use my laptop - which means it will be later in the day - but I'll get it to you. :D:D:D

Do I need to install anything or should it normally suffice to load DEMO.exe? I was missing at least two DLL files (mfc42d.dll & msvcrtd.dll) and after I downloaded them and put them in the Windows/system folder, I still get an error message on starting DEMO.exe, saying "The ordinal number 5100 was not found in MFC42D.DLL"... Do you have any idea what that's about and how the issue can be resolved?

I vaguely remember we were discussing something similar before, maybe something about how European computers treat numbers differently than US machines and that a few changes to the config.txt could help??
