Re: Has there been a question thread before?

What would a virtual machine look like?

dplax 05-29-2008 05:03 PM

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

Should I talk about virtual machines which are used in IT? :P

Dragonshadow 05-29-2008 06:07 PM

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

Can't you mount a virtual computer inside a drive on your existing computer, and then run a completly different OS on it?
If not, then what the hell have I been doing?

dplax 05-29-2008 06:09 PM

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

I can install several OS's on the same drive...and then run one from the other...does that make me a geek?

Spirits Reborn 05-29-2008 06:23 PM

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

Can you install several os's in a flashdrive? If you can, then only you would be a geek, right?

Dragonshadow 05-29-2008 08:06 PM

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

Aren't we all just geeks anyway?

Kakero 05-29-2008 10:00 PM

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

Who are you calling a geek?

Doesn't that just prove you're a geek, rather than make you one?

Don't we all wish we had made that astute comment?

I'll concede your point.

Why is it that while at work I'm nice and fresh (like now) and before and afterwards I'm dead tired?

Dragonshadow 05-30-2008 05:59 AM

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

Is it because you like work?
Why is it I think it's three hours behind what it really is?

dplax 05-30-2008 07:15 AM

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

Hah, now I'm tired, after having lunch. Almost no one in this section...Should I just lie back and have a quick nap? :P

Dragonshadow 05-30-2008 07:36 AM

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

Should you really sleep at work? :P

dplax 05-30-2008 09:29 AM

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

Would I be more productive if I were allowed 15 minute sleep breaks every hour?

Unglaublich Verwustung 05-30-2008 09:32 AM

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

Do you mean 15 one-minute breaks each hour or one 15 minute break every hour?

Dragonshadow 05-30-2008 09:40 AM

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

Would it matter, because surely with 15 one-minute breaks you could put them all together to make one 15 minutes break per hour... Or you could put a couple here and the rest over here and make it so it makes a nice pattern when turned into a graph or chart... Or you could just mess around with them... So aren't these breaks kinda like building blocks, you can make them into whatever shape you want and play around with them?

Wait, does anyone understand what I just said?

Unglaublich Verwustung 05-30-2008 09:45 AM

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

Yes I do, but surely there is an advantage for you to take a 1 minute break after every 3 minutes of work, as opposed to working hard for 45 minutes before taking a 15 minute nap? After all, who can do anything constructive in 3 minutes [I am now attempting to make a small sleeping cat using graph paper and my new break pattern :)]?

Can I have an extra 4 minutes?

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

Are... Are you drawing kitties?

Dragonshadow 05-30-2008 10:36 AM

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

Wait... You mean I had an idea WHICH MADE SENSE?
Holy... I think my brain just imploded, didn't it?

Spirits Reborn 05-30-2008 06:13 PM

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

if your brain really imploded- then would it really matter whether we answered or not?

Bungleau 05-30-2008 09:34 PM

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

If it did, how would she know?

Dragonshadow 05-31-2008 05:26 AM

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

Because I'm special like that?

toot033 05-31-2008 11:30 AM

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

Would a brain implosion sound like a ballon leaking air?

Bungleau 05-31-2008 12:04 PM

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

Do you mean the high squeaky kind of leak, or the loud blast kind of leak?

Spirits Reborn 05-31-2008 04:15 PM

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

does it really matter?

Unglaublich Verwustung 05-31-2008 04:27 PM

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

Anyone mind if I pop my birthday balloons and report back?

Spirits Reborn 06-01-2008 02:45 AM

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

what sound would that make?

Unglaublich Verwustung 06-01-2008 10:16 AM

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

What, the report? Maybe like the sound a comment on a web-forum makes when you read it?

Which would that sound like: A dull thud or a maniacal giggle?

Unglaublich Verwustung 06-01-2008 10:31 AM

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

Don't you think it's more like the sound of a dysfunctional rabbit reaching into your mind and pulling out a year's worth of thoughts whilst looking for a fresh bunch of carrots?

Spirits Reborn 06-01-2008 01:24 PM

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

uhh..isn't it just pop?

You sound almost like you're speaking from experience there... Has it ever happened to you before?

Unglaublich Verwustung 06-01-2008 05:04 PM

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

I don't know...maybe, but how would I know, if that was one of the memories I lost?

Dragonshadow 06-02-2008 06:15 PM

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

How would you know about the rabbit either, in that case?

Spirits Reborn 06-02-2008 07:41 PM

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

maybe he is lying?

Kakero 06-03-2008 10:51 AM

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

Why would he lie about that?

Unglaublich Verwustung 06-03-2008 03:10 PM

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

What rabbit?

toot033 06-03-2008 05:22 PM

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

How did a rabbit get involved? I would expect a wood chuck or maybe a beaver but not a little rabbit..

Unglaublich Verwustung 06-03-2008 05:32 PM

Re: Has there been a question thread before?

...but why are you all talking about a rabbit?
