Lyulfe

Raising an elegant eyebrow, Lyulfe studied the ring intently for a few moments before reaching for his pocket. He halted mid-motion, however, and instead of placing the simple object in his own pocket, the elf bent over and gently placed it in a secure place on Rong Er's person.

Giving the wriggling eggs one more backwards glance, he tenderly lifted Rong Er into his strong arms and strode towards the edge. Beginning to glow a wierd azure violet, he launched himself into the air, and the pair began to plummet towards the cloud banks below as they became enveloped in a flash of brilliant amethyst and sea-blue light, their descent towards the ground far below beginning to slow...

Andrion's focus remained on the image, and he guided it down the rope, imagining himself doing it, and what movements he'd have to make. When the projection came to stand on solid ground, the light spell finally expired. However, Andrion had caused this image to "shimmer", which made it look like it had a spell of protection cast upon it. The spell of light from the likeness of Andrion gave the room a faint glow that lit the floor well enough to see a few feet around the perimeter of the illusion.

Suddenly there was a sound of shuffling footsteps, hurrying along. Then something lunged at the illusion to attack it, knock it down and kill it, but the illusion stood it's ground as the creature passed through. The creature lay upon the ground, looking dumbfounded at the illusion. It got up and lunged again, not understanding what it was looking at.

What the party was looking at in the cool glow of the illusion was a bear. But it was not well-looking. In fact, it seemed to be a moving corpse, or undead being. One of it's hind paws was limp and not being used. Adding to that the fact that most undead are not very cooridinated anyway made for an almost humorous spectacle.
The bear continued to paw at the apparition, trying to figure out why its attacks were not working.

Andrion broke the mind contact with the illusion causing the illusion to stay in the same place until the spell expired. From the sounds he had heard he knew that something was attacking the illusion. Andrion peered over the edge of the chasm and was surprised by what he saw.

"An undead bear?"-he asked.

"I probably could kill it from up here with spells, but if you two have a better ide then let me know."-he said to his two companions.</font>

The hike back was slower than the trip to the cave. Larry was anxious to get back soon to the tavern, and he hoped that Spree had come back by now from her excursions.

They cleared the last pass of trees and came out into the opening where the city began, the first building on this side of the forest being the tavern. Chani had built it close to the woods, where nobody else wanted to build their market place. It was ideal for one with elven heritage. Larry ran at a brisk pace, hoping to find the candle team inside waiting for him. </font>

<font color=#AAAAA> Silt 80/80

Silt pulls out his bow, anxious to get this thing down before the illusion runs out. "I could try and take it down with my bow" he spoke quietly so as not to draw the bears attention to him. "If I cant kill it, I should at least be able to injure it before it got out the way. I can knock up this bow pretty fast. That, combined with maybe a magic missile and whatever you can muster, Roderik, could take this thing down I think. What do you say?"

<font color=lime>Roderik

"That sounds fine, no reason to set off more magic than we need to, this close to the Shadow Mage's home turf I'm sure large expenditures of energy would only draw his attention, and that's the last thing we want" The bard begins chanting in a sing-song voice and almost instantly five red points of light form from his fingers and fly down striking the undead creature.</font>

ooc oops, I cast magic missile on the darkness! umm... I mean the bear

"The monster did not seem to like the light which I had used previously. I shall prepare a fireball just in case your attempts don't take care of the beast. Hopefully between the fireball's damage and the light it causes the beast would die, but I would prefer if you two manage to take care of it as what Roderik, you said is true. Drawing the Shadow One's attention is the last think we want."</font>

The magic missles struck their target, and enraged the undead beast. It growled and howled and scowled at you from below, yet had no way to reach you. </font>

OOC>>>Silt, your turn. In your post, finish the bear off and write it as dead. it surely will be after you hit it.

The three of you will then receive 1 XP each for getting this far and dealing with the bear sensibly. Good strategizing, guys. Keep it up, and I will just make the next traps harder.

<font color=#AAAAA> Silt 80/80

After watching the bear scream in agony at Roderiks magic missiles Silt drew his bow, hooked on an arrow and fired away, using his expert site to make sure he hit the bear right between the eyes as it howled up at the three of them. Then, just for good measure he fired another shot, which hit the bear right next to his first. Screaming, it fell to the ground and Silt laughed out loud in satisfaction. "Now I think the path is clear guys, so who will go down first? I could jump down if you like, and search around for any possible traps, although I cant imagine there would be any as the bear was walking around. And my nightvision might help spot something."

dplax 06-03-2004 07:51 PM

<font color=green>Andrion Wilgor

"That is a good idea. We shall join you at the bottom"

Then before Silt even jumped down Andrion took hold of the rope and started climbing down.</font>

OOC: How long is the illusion still going to last?
