They generally are quite cute but I've got to agree with Johnny here. Are you including the toothless sixty year olds?

"Hey shekshy!"

Brayf 09-18-2005 12:42 PM

Italian women are beautiful until they hit 45, when they suddenly warp into hunchbacked lesbians thicker than they are tall.

Balintherlas 09-18-2005 02:53 PM

Well Italian women between the ages of 18 and 40, plus most of them have a great heritage.

burnzey boi 09-18-2005 08:59 PM

Italians are good for cooking and cleaning mostly..

burnzey boi 09-18-2005 09:10 PM

Just to note, Blondes are winning in the poll :D So that proves blondes do it best!

canadianvixen 09-19-2005 12:25 AM

What is it that they do best burnzey boi? Clean toilets, laundry, menial labour?

Illumina Drathiran'ar 09-19-2005 01:43 AM

You people are idiots. BB, if you can't say something intelligent, than for God's sake at least don't insult an ethnicity. That violates TOS. And Brayf, I take issue with the lesbian comment. At age 45 their sexual orientation realigns? It's really a vapid thing to say.

Edit- typo

Get 'em Illumina.

What's attractive? I'll answer like most of Americans would answer: "ME" :D

LOL, And it doesn't hurt to make a good living, treat her nicely AND have some common sense and intelligence.

Melcheor 09-19-2005 10:15 AM

Good looks
Humour
Rich
Common Sense
Intelligent

Its a wonder the species doesn't die out.

You have my sincere apologies, I guess I took the sexist humour thing a bit too far Hope I didn't cause too much offense.

</font>
Their comments were thoughtless, but yours is completely out of line, Klorox! I'm not fond of editing msgs because someone can't find a way to say their piece without foul language, but thanks for making me have to houseclean the thread. Avoid the urge in future, please. There are plenty of ways to tell someone you don't like their comments without resorting to profanity like that.

Bungleau 09-19-2005 03:38 PM

Now, now, ladies and gentlemen... only good clean discussions in here, and be sure not to offend with overly exaggerated stereotypes. Or else I'm going to have to break out the lame Polack jokes... :D

Speaking of which, do you know why Polish mothers are so strong? Comes from years of raising dumbbells...

And with my ancestry, I'm licensed to say that with a smile and then some :D

'Course, it's hard-pressed to see a discussion of what someone finds attractive *not* run afoul of what someone else considers attractive. Just remember it's all opinion and perspective, and it can change, just like the weather.

Cloudbringer 09-19-2005 03:40 PM

Brayf and burnzey boi, do yourselves and the rest of us a favor and think twice before you hit the 'add reply button'. Stereotyping usually gets a less than agreeable response around here but you're pushing the envelope too.

Melcheor 09-19-2005 03:43 PM

Lets see, in this thread we've had sexism, xenophobic jokes, sarcasm (ok that was me) and swearing. All good fun...

(Sorry, I can't seem to quit the sarcasm. Sarcastics Annonymous maybe? Sorry again...)

HEHE...GMTA! We were posting similar thoughts about the same time, Bungleau. :D

Thoran 09-19-2005 03:51 PM

Physical attraction opens the door, but if there's nothing upstairs I could never get past it. The most fascinating women I've met were attractive sure... but they also challenged me and could hold a decent conversation without saying 'like' like 300 times... like... ya-know?

As for the question -
It's long black hair for me... the ONLY way to go.

Brayf 09-19-2005 03:53 PM

It's not so much a matter of who finds what attractive as much as it is a matter of who can make the most negative generalisations. When I think 'Latvian woman,' I might see of a nightmare-like vision of a body building woman gushing heaps of hormone pills down her throat but firstly, I'd try to have enough tact to avoid proclaiming it and secondly, I'd know that actually a very-very small percentage of Latvian women are like that. Hopefully. :D

Good that you apologized. Not so good you just took a pot shot at another member, although I do understand why, it's still not something you should do here. Take a little break if it's got you so worked up you're namecalling, ok?

Haha, sorry, I'm really only joking... I'll tone the whole thing down, though. I'm afraid I'm used to rather more 'liberal' communities . I like the friendly atmosphere here though, sorry again for lowering the tone .

Oh yes, I know about that one. And it certainly didn't help when I saw a clerk who I mistook for a woman. I was really young then and thought "Holy crap, what's up with these guys!?"

Whenever I think of Finnish people, I turn to one of two stereotypes that my mind has created - an overweight 40 year old guy with a mustache and a can of beer in his hand or a skating punk music loving teenage person with heavily gelled hair or dreadlocks. The first one was created thanks to the numerous Finnish tourists that come to Estonia mainly to buy alcoholic beverages, which are considerably cheaper here, the latter one was created by Freestyler's music videos mostly. :D Oh yeah, and they both have a small Nokia mobile phone in their pockets. :D

canadianvixen 09-20-2005 09:42 AM

I'm confused, what do stereotypes have to do with attractiveness?

Sever 09-20-2005 10:22 AM

Stereotypes? I guess some people are attracted to people because they feel that they should be attracted to them. Not because they are genuinely interested. It's all a power of suggestion/symbol of status kind of thing. I can't find words to explain it just now but it happens to everyone (consciously or otherwise) at some stage. Think high school cheerleader and star quarterback.

More on this once i find the words...

mad=dog 09-20-2005 12:10 PM

Stereotypes is a result of a complex world and the capabilities of the human mind. The world is too complex to fully comprehend so we tend to simplify it so we can make assumptions and draw meaning from it. In a sense I do not mind stereotypes as long as they are not used as facts.
The purpose of this thread manage to elude me, but I think the intention is to reduce an entire gender into comparable stereotypes and then, using democratic principles, determine which is percieved most attractive.

EDIT: Point taken. Sorry. Enough flames already.

burnzey boi 09-27-2005 01:41 AM

Gah? I was actualy watching an italian advert for Mccains lassanga and thats where i got cooking and cleaning from.

I know some steretypes..

1. Aussie: Fat belly with a beer near a barbie with some snags.

2. New Zealander: Works on a farm 24/7 and come home to his lovely.. (sorry if that is a bit rude but thats what all aussies think)

3. English: Drinking tea and eating crumpets near a fire while is is snowing outside.

4. American: I have never been told what an American sterotype was..

5: Japanese: Some samurai guy holding a katana in the sun rise. Dunno why there is a sun rise but their just is.

Thats all i know, and it wasn't my fault he brought up the italian idea lol. Blondes are best in BED because thats what we blondes are best at! Some Brunettes are good too..

Also.. This is hard.. I apologise for my reckless behaviour.. Sorry Cloudy..

*shudders* jeez I hate that add, and I agree, that sterotyoe is portrayed everywhere, as is the fat singlet wearing aussie stereotype.

vesselle 09-27-2005 03:17 AM

y'know, i've never paid much attention to stereotypes, especially those you see in advertisements, and i am not familiar with many of the ones mentioned. *shrugs*
either way, i'm much more inclined to base my judgment on how an individual treats me, rather than look at groups and actually believe everyone in that group could be a one-dimensional copy of each other.

V***V
