Maybe johnny has advice for rather than picking it off. :D

Calaethis Dragonsbane 09-10-2005 05:59 PM

*pokes cafe* It's quiet today. Where is everyone? I know it's Saturday, but still. As to what I've done today... stayed up all night, slept a few hours in the afternoon, and am now convinced it's Sunday, even though its not. Oh and I'm stuck on a NWNing spree... tackling SoU now. Deekin's such a pest...

So what are the rest of you up to in your daily lives? 'The lives of IWers'... sounds like a title for some soap opera :D

Ivelliis 09-10-2005 06:02 PM

The Boro beat Arsenal 2-1 (their last goal was 3 minutes in stoppage time, and I think it was offside).

Everyone played great today (Apart from Ugo Ehiogu, who I think is crap). Great football and two great goals.

Shame I don't know any Gooner's, any of them on IW?

johnny 09-10-2005 06:25 PM

Yeah, Lanesra is a gooner, he suffers from a selective memory from time to time though, so he might ignore you altogether. :D

What a night...what a night.... if i weren't there in the flesh, i'd almost feel abused. :D

crap! I feel asleep again in the early first half. :(

On the other hand, ManU and Mancity drew 1 - 1. *sigh*, It's a disaster!

DrowArchmage 09-11-2005 11:25 AM

Girls are confusing. Cloudy, your a girl right? can you answer a question for me?

Cloudbringer 09-12-2005 08:54 AM

Helo Everyone! Just got back from visiting my parents over the weekend. They've bought a 'fixer upper' place on a lake and are in mid-fixing up... but we had a good visit and I'm back at work today.

DrowArchmage, yep, I am. Not sure about having answers (well the right ones anyway!) but I can try!

Ivelliis 09-12-2005 03:18 PM

I'm having a dilemma guys.

I'm going to France at the start of October, and my iPod broke (again) a few weeks back.

I saw the iPod Nano and instantly wanted one - £179.99 for the one I want, plus the headphones is a rounded £200. I have £170, and could probably get one if I was good, but I need money to go to France with.

Any ideas how to make money quickly? I've tried asking for jobs around the house to no avail.

johnny 09-12-2005 04:19 PM

You could always prostitute yourself. According to Velvet Jones a good ho can make up to 1500$ a week, without leaving the comfort of your own bedroom. :D

Melcheor 09-12-2005 04:23 PM

Trafficing sensitive information is usually the best way to make a fast buck IMHO. Thats assuming a little earwigging and extortion aren't above you... Also try kidnapping stuff from family members that they don't want aired in public, you know, porno mags, subsqcriptions to star trek fact files... Start a website selling something really bizarre. Fridge magnets shaped like Graham Gooch for example. You're from the north east so if you have a really strong geordie accent you could go somewhere posh like Durham or Harrogate and pretend to be a working class poet and rip off a few toffs. I'm out of ideas, but you dont need any more do you, these'll have you a millionaire in no time.

Edit - Johnny, he's from the north east of England. The prostitution game is a cutthroat industry up there - litterally ;) Ah who am I to talk, yorkshire boy that I am.

Sir Goulum 09-12-2005 04:24 PM

You could blow it all on lottery tickets and hope for the best.

Melcheor 09-12-2005 04:44 PM

Premium bonds are good, whatshisname believes in them.

Ivelliis 09-12-2005 04:55 PM

Thanks for the, um, imaginative ideas, LOL about the comments about Middlesbrough, although I don't have a Geordie accent, Smoggy all the way :D

I think I'll settle for more "old-fashioned" ideas, such as cleaning cars *sigh* and cutting grass *sigh again*.

My mum is determined to not let me get an iPod because she wants to buy me one for Christmas (she says she never knows what to buy me). She says "It's your money you can do what you want" but I know the truth.

Damn parents.

Sir Goulum 09-12-2005 04:57 PM

I know what you mean about wanting the iPod Nano though... I already have a mini, but I want that one pretty bad now.

Melcheor 09-13-2005 05:25 AM

Wow, I just looked at the ipod site. I've never seen those before. I've been wanting a 6GB mini for a bit now, so hopefully with all this new technology abound, the minis will go down in price a bit. Unless Sir G wants to make a deal?... Who needs e-bay when you have Cloudy's Cafe. Hey that rhymes! Go me!

Edit - Are the ipod nanos hard disk or flash type memory. If flash I might be intrested all of a sudden. 2GB flash players are usually £200.

You could see what happened next from a mile away... and I was actually hoping to *play* captain and get to sail around to a few various places, or even fight a couple of ship battles of my own choosing. Maybe raid a couple of merchant vessels, loot a town - you know, piraty sort of stuff. :(
There was also a lack of romance, and the main 'villain', well... I never got to *talk* to her afterwards. I did both endings, and I decided I prefer to leave the ghost unavenged - it was more in character.
But aside from that, and being a tad too short for my tastes, it was highly enjoyable. I wonder if they'll make a sequal.

Incidently, has anyone tried out any other *good* mods? Either premium or single player.
Cheers in advance,

CD. ^^

Edit: I also wanted to eat Garm - who was a nice touch, btw - as was Poly the Parrot. Too bad I couldn't.
I'm actually somewhat surprised - I tried a new combination today - my bard(4)/pale master(2)/RDD(2) and it was quite effective! Especially given how quickly I could accquire the two PrC classes.

There is a sea battle in the module "The Kiss of Fate."

Cloudbringer 09-13-2005 02:58 PM

ROTFL, I'm not sure if we'd be flattered to be called the new ebay! LOL

Just had a few minutes to say hello! Had to drop my car of for service and run some errands in town. Never change your name.. it's such a pain to get it changed EVERYWHERE you need to let them know! I am still doing it a year and a half after the wedding! :D

Melcheor 09-13-2005 03:15 PM

You didn't go double barrelled then?

Which part of France shall it be?

We're visiting the battlegrounds in Normandy I think, and also visiting Paris for a day.

I went on the exact same trip last year - except it was a day longer - and it was pretty good so I am going again. I remember the food was horrible in the hostel we stayed in so when we went to Paris about thirty teenagers ran into the Macdonalds (the only one in the world where the M isn't yellow). It was a good laugh.

Shame about my money problems, heh, I can't afford both but I really want that iPod.

Sell my baby? Never! ;)

It is a flash drive, btw. $249 for the 4Gig and $199 for the 2Gig.

I have that one - wait, is that the... with the nasty NPC who everyone just wants to punch in the face?

Has anyone else tried any of the other Premium mods? Currently, I'm in Chapter 3 of HotU and... growing a little disappointed there's nothing much more after that (in the way of storylines & your character progressing as Drogan's student in the plot - Although, to that, I must add I'm disappointed I don't get to play as the 'hero of Neverwinter'...).

Or failing that, any decent mods with nice roleplay and storyline? I'll try dling some of the ones you suggested earlier Attalus - but surely there have to be more good mods then just those three!

I'd try some myself, but I don't seem to be having the best of luck with selecting mods. I've found very few I actually enjoy -_-.

On the plus side, I did finally hit upon a charater combination I'm very pleased with - monk(x)/shadowdancer(7)/harper(5) (the last is something I thought I'd never pick, but it actually seems to work...)

As to what I've been up to - well, I was supposed to meet up with some friends - but I missed them by a few mins and ended up wandering around looking for them for over an hour... *grumble*. My phone was dead, so I couldn't ring them. In the end, I simply gave up and paid a call on another friend I've not seen in ages and we went and saw the film 'Red Eye'. The film itself is rather weak, as are the protagonist, and the antagonist gets a couple of stupid plot things that really shouldn't happen, but the acting was very good. It's not the best film, but its not the worst either. I enjoyed it for the most part .

Ivelliis 09-14-2005 05:53 PM

Hey all, just finished watching Lost. What a series, so weird.

Is anyone else watching/has anyone watched it? For those who watch(ed) it I just saw the one explaining Charlie's drug problem, how he came to have it, etc. Good series, my second favourite series to come from the US, first being Desperate Housewives.

Anyone know when the second series of DH is going to be on? I miss it

Sir Goulum 09-14-2005 06:19 PM

Ivellis, thanks for nothing. Now you've made me want to buy an iPod Nano.

Kakero 09-14-2005 10:00 PM

Interesting, I just got my US Visa. But I've to cancel my planned trip to US in December and go to Thailand instead. Bah!

Ladyzekke 09-14-2005 10:13 PM

Check the Books & Movies forum Ivellis. It's been a few months since Lost ended here in the U.S., but I have two Lost threads there. The second series is going to air soon, so I know I'll be bumping the US and Canada thread soon. :D

Ivelliis 09-15-2005 02:36 AM

Sorry Sir G, but they are cool aren't they?

Thanks for the tip ladyzekke, I'll go look there in a bit. It's just cruel when you get left with a cliffhanger at the end of EVERY episode but nothing ever gets explained!

Yeah it is. Not very far in the game yet, what you see is a level 16 battlemage, and his horse (because he's kinda lazy). :D

Cloudbringer 09-15-2005 11:45 AM

Good morning.. well nearly afternoon for me, but hello! Generating much paperwork today....ahh the joys of office work!

Ivelliis 09-15-2005 12:21 PM

Heya guys!

I was reading the WoW forums then and saw the new Hunter Pet skills! My cat can get stealth *drool*

Boro versus Skoda Xanthi (greek team) tonight in the UEFA cup. It isn't on TV, but the tickets were £10 (cheaper than £12 last season) so I'll be there cheering them on in the pouring rain.

Strange day at school today. It went really, really quickly, but I had rubbish lessons (Business Studies, Maths, English, Double Science). No homework though :D

Hope the weather is nicer where you all are. Rain is so horrible.
