Something to do with my younger days, a couple of bottles of whiskey and a few cops...

I'd change it to Cypher if I could, though I didn't do it back when Ziroc offered us the chance. Ah, well, I'm an idiot! :D

Having a huge "Empire" Army I can tell you that Sigmar is their god. Karl Franz (who's pic I'd like to post but don't know how) weilds the Hammer of Sigmar when he goes to battle. I like the name myself

Ziggurat 10-29-2004 11:27 PM

I've always liked the mystery of pyramids, and ziggurats are the oldest kind. I like the idea of a spiral ascension to enlightenment, too. No direct path.

Ziggurat is the the title song and name of my first music CD (1996). It's a heavy prog-rock song about sending soldiers in to "quiet the locals" to accept iron rule. It was written at the time Bosnia was happening. Didn't know how appropriate it would be for today's war in Iraq. At the end, the gods were not there at the holy ziggurat for the returning soldier. I kinda like the name Zig as well for short. (The cartoon character seems existential and underdog, but that wasn't an inspiration for taking the name.) The great ziggurat in Iraq is cool. I'm glad we didn't blow it up.

shadowhound 10-30-2004 12:24 AM

Well I figured that the name Shadow would probably already be taken so I just stuck hound on the end. Have been using it since.

Krull 10-30-2004 12:53 AM

Hi Variol

Mine is from the Robert E Howard books of King Krull, it's not from the movie!

I do use King Krull on other Forums, eg VN Boards.

Illumina Drathiran'ar 10-30-2004 02:41 AM

Illumina Drathiran'ar is my oldest and most beloved character to roleplay with and to write about. I pieced the name together myself... Drathiran'ar, roughly translated, means "moon dancer".

Callum 10-30-2004 03:05 AM

My name... well... its quite a story...

Its my real name... the end...

Can you believe it has only as much damage as a broadsword? Even less for large creatures? *grumbles* [/QB]
I bet it has a huge knock-down though. D10 or even D12 maybe. That's why I gave my 2nd ed Warrior Priest a Maul this time. KD is not considered often enough when choosing a weapon, I find.

Wow, I've never heard that word before and my dad and I talk about Pyramids and the like all the time. I really thought it was made up. I'll have to do a bit o' research now!

Blunderbuss 10-30-2004 05:02 AM

My name originates from a..erm... blunderbuss. But the blunderbuss comes from the Tolkien book 'Farmer Giles of Ham'. An excelllent book by anyones' standards.

Pyrates 10-30-2004 05:22 AM

Hey, btw, Krull is also the name of a well-known german mathmatician, look at http://www-gap.dcs.st-and.ac.uk/~his...ans/Krull.html if you like ;)

Now, my name comes from the fabulous novel "The Dragonbone Chair" by Tad Williams. If you don't know it, read it! The most evil human in that story is Pryrates, and though I don't like evil characters (nobody does, of course ;) ), I like the name. I like it even better without the first "r". I use it in almost all forums, especially when they're about games.

Cheers
Philipp

So nice to see all your cool names. Me, I just came here lurking for answers 'til I got carried away and peeked in General Discussion.

As I've said in every other forum name topic, my username means nothing but 'worm' in my language. The shame!

I quite like some evil characters (shock shock my D&D characters are usually evil), try reading Well Of Darkness by Margaret Wies and Tracy Hickman. Its a good book that is written from the villian's point of view.
I will have to have a look at this Dragonbone Chair book of yours

Variol (Farseer) Elmwood 10-30-2004 09:59 AM

In our DnD campaign everybody has to be good. And i like it much better. I fact I wouldn't play if it were any other way. I hear that evil parties are too easy. When you're good, you just can't go around killing everything.

Well, it really doesn't matter any other way, you really don't have a choice but to be good because the game isn't designed to benefit an evil party.

Raumiel Hellilenda 10-30-2004 12:05 PM

I have played only good characters for years. I don't think I can play evil, to be honest.

There is a lot more to evil than just killing, though. I think the kind of evil that goes around killing everything is rather cliché, to be honest. There's more than one way to be evil. (like manipulating and using people) But the farthest I have gone is Neutral.

Yes some people do call me Binky. Not quite sure which Binky that it came from. I'm hoping it was death's Horse. He's called Binky also..

Clans? Hm? Bah! The ORT was the only one which could ever Rival HADB. Getting it going again wouldn't be worth it to be honest. The Order Of Royal Toads was just a satire of other clans, so kickstarting again, would be fairly silly, if there were no other clans to Mock We managed to get up to about 30 full threads though of non-sensical nonsense. Not many people can say that. We were the last to die off as well.

Yeah, I lurked there on occasion to see what Galadria was up to. Pretty funny stuff. Aelia was priceless.

Knock-down? Did I miss out on a rule? Not sure I've heard of this - a supplement? Lucern hammers would be a great pole-arm to equip your armies with if Vecna or some such undead horde is coming though! *Smashes skeleton to pieces at 10 feet* "Stay dead next time!!" ;)

Variol (Farseer) Elmwood 10-30-2004 03:54 PM

Everything has Knock-down dude! Many are just D6, only good for goblins and the like. D8 will knock a man size target down and D10 (like my Maul) will knock down Half-Ogres and the like. It think 1 or 2 may even go up to D12.
Sorry, I tried to find some examples to paste but couldn't. Maybe someone could do that for me?

Damn right, evil characters are not given enough respect. Its not all about the killing (although the occasional drunken slaughter can be fun). Its about finding alternative ways of solving a problem.

Say that you needed some cash for equipment, while a Lawful Good paladin may have to go out questing to raise the money an Neutral Evil Assassin could decide to rob an ageing lady of all her valueables. Have a problem with a certain official? Make a financial agreement with them (*cough* bribe *cough*) or you could always hire someone to remove them while you have a solid alibi.

Sure its not a common RP activity for characters to be evil but it is definatly an interesting experience that should be tried at least once.

Tom 10-30-2004 09:23 PM

It's my name.

Jedimaster 10-30-2004 09:29 PM

I got my forum name the easy way I stole it from Star Wars. From what I have read in Star Wars books it starts out like this for the jedi: jedi squire, jedi knight, jedi master. What I would like to know is where did the mods get there forum names? And who has the forum name CHOC?

Same here just back to front with the "General" added for good measure.

I got name from one of the bosses of BG 1, that I really thought was awesome. Obviously I mispelled the name. It is supposed to be Slythe.

Thank ye.

armageddon272 11-01-2004 02:31 PM

armageddon272 was what i used for my first email address. i still use that one, i wanted to use armageddon, cus people said i caused trouble, but armageddon was taken. i tried armageddon727 cause i like those planes, but that was taken too. so i inverted 727 to get 272. so armageddon272 was born. now i try to use that for as many of my names as possible to avoid confusion.

Morgawr - I stole the name from a terry brooks trilogy it's a type of nasty witchy character.
Not that interesting when i think about it.

Wereboar 11-02-2004 07:25 AM

My forum name is a wrong translation.
I'm german. My last name is Baer (bear), and my first name starts with 'Wer', so i though i'd translate it like Werwolf -> Werewolf. So it should have been Werbaer -> Werebear. But my translation mistake made it Wereboar instead.
