Lol, never noticed!
Me neither! Wow, guess I just assumed it was crimson and didn't look hard enough.

I'm happy enough with mine

Chewbacca 01-25-2003 02:59 AM

Interesting topic.
While I wish I had chosen a less well-known handle, my real fear is being pursued for using copyrighted material! ;)

It is odd when, I consider it. I am a writer, D&D player, and storyteller that thrives on coming up with creative names. It is odd that I would choose an "unoriginal" name, but I like sci-fi, so thats my only excuse.

In the end, I do not regret my user name.

Grojlach 01-25-2003 03:35 AM

Despite what people think, no, I don't regret my username. It's confusing, unpronounceable and 100% unique. What else does a person want in a name? ;)

How could someone mix up Grojlach with Graham or George Lake! Who was it? ;)

Mouse 01-25-2003 05:09 AM

I'm happy with Mouse :D It kind of lulls people into thinking I'm a small insignificant entity. Then I pounce.

Ar-Cunin 01-25-2003 05:12 AM

I belong to the group that is happy wiyh their name

Borvik 01-25-2003 05:52 AM

Nothing to regret about my name I guess. It's the unspectacular combination of the first three letters of my first name and the last three letters of my last name. And the first letter is capitalized... Hmmm, seems ok to me.

pcgiant 01-25-2003 06:03 AM

I like mine the way it is.
Pcgiant, PcGiant and PCGiant just don't cut it.

NiceWorg 01-25-2003 06:05 AM

Did you put up this tread for me?

I mailed Ziroc, but apparently I have to stick with this.

9_1_6 01-25-2003 06:14 AM

I....Just....Love....Mine....
My first name starts with I, last name with P.
I is the 9th letter in the alphabet and P is the 16th letter in the alphabet.
But if I made it 9_16, it wouldn't look as good as 9_1_6

Davros 01-25-2003 07:59 AM

Just shows how wrong you can be whan you try and guess what the motivation for a thread might be ;) .

I saw the title about regretting your user name posted by Lavindathar - and my guess was .......

That Lavindathar was sick and tired of having his username shortened in replies to either Lav or Lavi or Lavy. I figured he was trying to take a stand AGAINST toilet humour :D .

Shows how wrong I can be .

Oh, I have no regrets on my username - and I don't regret Grojlach's either :D .

The Hierophant 01-25-2003 08:13 AM

Yeah, I'm kinda sick of 'The Hierophant'. I kinda foolishly chose it after a night of playing Ultima 7:Serpent Isle. It was gonna be 'The Chaos Hierophant', but it was a bit long.
Now I could really do with a new name altogether. Ah well.

/)eathKiller 01-25-2003 08:25 AM

well myt name's got a capital in it, but its not at the begining, it mainly serves as word seperation, I actually wouldn't have minded having the name Í)Σå†/-/ƒ<¡||ě® Though I don't know if anyone would be able to read it \

Having a /) for a D does have advantages and disadvantages 1: It makes my name more original while 2: Sometimes people don't get it and call me Neath or Eath

LordKathen 01-25-2003 09:41 AM

I like my handle as well. When naming my son, I was looking for something unique and came up with Kathen, pronounced like Nathen with a K. I could never find any history on Kathen, but found some on Cathan, meaning battler in Irish galic. Anyway, being into the whole fantasy thing, I came up with Lord Kathen. I like it alot, and use it for everything now. ;)

BTW, I'm happy with mine - it's unique, anyways.

EDIT>typos
Forget that, Cloudhustler is much better

Anyway, about my user name: contrary to popular belief it has nothing to do with VasQUez from Aliens. And I wish people would stop spelling it with a "qu". Thing is it's not very inspirational at all but I like it, it's short and snappy and looks good written. Vas = iron, kéz = hand in Hungarian.

lethoso 01-25-2003 10:58 AM

i'm happy with my user name, but i can't really remember why i made it up.... think it was cos i was feeling lethargic or something stupid like that.... only gripe is that people mix it up with the african country lesotho...

Ronn_Bman 01-25-2003 11:40 AM

I like mine. It's sexy, and everyone else wishes they could have it, so what's not to like?

It's the name I used on MSN's Gaming Zone for over a year while playing Axis and Allies, so it seemed like a good thing to use it here and everywhere. This way I don't have to keep up with a list of usernames.

The only thing I wish I could change is the underscore. I'd rather have a space, but since that isn't an option....

Kakero 01-25-2003 11:44 AM

I like mine, it has bring me nothing but good luck. hehehe...

Luvian 01-25-2003 01:15 PM

Sometimes I put a capital, sometimes I don't. I don't care either way.

Luvian, luvian. Both look nice.

LS0158 01-25-2003 02:36 PM

Both letters in mine are capitol... the rest are numbers. People often confuse my e-mail address as LSO158 instead of LS0158. the difference is that it has the number 0 and not the capitol letter o.

Bruce The Aussie 01-25-2003 02:45 PM

i like my name. very australian. of coarse everyone who doesn't know me asumes for SOME reason i'm australian. its not true, i'm english. but as it goes, its a good name.

purre 01-25-2003 03:55 PM

No regrets :D
though some mix it with 'puree' though
and I dont miss the capital letter either

edit: but for some reason, some typos I make bother me a lot..
edit2: and eventually I give up... :D

puree = (something) bites
purre = a cute pet name

Ah! I always thought you were referring to the Worg (wolf-like creature) in BG2, saying something along the lines of "Nice Worg, nice worg", the way you're saying "nice doggy, niiiiiiiiiiiiice doggy" with sweat on your forehead when a dog is growling dangerously at you. ;)

Attalus 01-25-2003 04:40 PM

*Grins* Groj, that is nearly exactly what I thought, except I thought of the Wargs in LOTR. As Aragorn says, "Where the warg howls, there the orc prowls."

wellard 01-25-2003 05:02 PM

G'day
Well'ard is a nickname they came up with at work. they were taking the mikey out of my Lancashire accent when i was describing someone being very tough. "How hard was he" they asked. "Oh he was well hard" I replied, then everyone just ROFL.

I've had a lot worse nicknames. but sometimes I wish I'd used my PnP D&D name of Kongor

Paladin2000 01-25-2003 05:05 PM

I have no problem with mine too. :D

Horatio 01-25-2003 05:35 PM

I have no problem with mine, although on rare occasions I have been asked if it's my real name

I do, however, regret one of my sigs. It made people picture me as looking like Jim Carrey :D

It requires strange logic, got to admit.. those annoying worgs, though only when they come in very large numbers, were in my deep thoughts when I was thinking of a username -> somehow the word work came into mind, and because I´m soo terribly nice person ;) ... there it was. Crazy_Worg might have been better. :D

 Your real name is not Horatio? You don't look like Jim Carrey in armor?

LOL Attalus. Since you changed sig I´ve wondered if that is you in that armor. And your real name is Attalus right?

I´m happy with mine, although to follow tradition I should´ve put X after the Willow part, since I used WillowIX on the old 3DO M&M7 board. Ah well. ;)

Yep, Willow, that is me (NOT), though Galadria liked the old one, better, saying that this one is "Not cute enough." It seems that I am "cuteness impaired," except when it comes to women. Actually, "Attalus" is close to my real surname, which is Atkinson.

Not an option? I have it... Or is that a recent development?
