Well there you go then! We can discuss how terrible it is to be old. Al together now:

In my day...

7th December sounds good for me. Should we try and actually organise where we go this time, if there is going to be more than 3 of us and some of them are under drinking age?

And is Talthyr still around? Would he be interested?

Lord Shield 11-09-2002 03:50 AM

Lord Shield 11-10-2002 09:17 AM

no worries, Lavi - i do hae a sort of plan however:

some of the people here are too ripe for pubs and their parents might complain if they stroll in late anyway

so i figure it can be 2 parts. we could all meet up on the afternoon and shoot off somewhere (need to work out where) then, when the teens go home, us old farts can nip to a pub

Lavindathar 11-10-2002 02:03 PM

Well, even though I be underage, I think I'll be staying for the pub. As I drink in one almost everynight, and work behind a bar! I know, that's illegal, but it's a "local" pub, for "local" people.

Lord Shield 11-11-2002 07:07 AM

so far we have 6 definites, 4 maybes, and Donut/Lanesra haven't stated a preference.

timescale-wise I was thinking we could meet at about 1pm. i've been figuring travel time into that, though i don't know how long the drive from Manchester would be

Sio 11-11-2002 08:14 AM

Man this gathering of peeps sounds like its going to be class.
I hope that in a few years we wil all still be here and be able to do this again so that I'll be able to come when ive got my own car and actually learnt how to drive :D

Pfft....Fred's hardly part of the crowd. It might have something to do with his huge eye stalks and horns.

Er, I can't go nearly any time in December. Oh well, have a beer on me.

Kaltia 11-16-2002 05:38 AM

7th December 1pm? Victoria or London bridge? I'm nowhere near old enough to drink (and, unfortunatly, I look it-chubby cheeks and all ) Actually, I can get up there pretty easy...might be a slightly harder job convincing my parents that I'm *not* walking into a *group* of loonies, just Lord Shield. ;)

Anyway, I NEED to meet up with Colin anyway

Just a side thought this sounds interesting and by frequant whining I could probably persuade my mother *sigh* to let me go. Oh, and Lavindathar, if you came wouldya bring Binks with you? (I owe him an ass-kicking ^ ^)

HAHAHAAHHAHAHAHHAAAAAAAA!

Ohhh YEAH!! Honestly, if i had the chance to come to London, i would gladly meet you all! I would really love to see the people im mixing with in forums... I hope if you gather, you have a great time together...!

Lord Shield 11-17-2002 06:52 AM

I was thinking London Bridge, like last time :)

looks like we have up to 10 possibles so far

some of us have pics on Stealthy's and are recognisable

I already have Eppy and Sprout's mobile numbers from last time. those that are definitely going could e-mail me with their mobile nunumber and i'll return in kind.

Then, if you can't turn up, you can let me know. Also, if we don't spot ya, i can try and phone you to see if you're about or late or whatever :)

Barry the Sprout 11-18-2002 10:34 AM

OK, I had an idea the other day, thought it might be worth mentioning. What we could do is try and book tickets for Two Towers on the day it comes out, or nearabouts, at the Leicester Square Odeon. Then we could all go along and see what is bound to be an amazing film and follow it up by getting some food or going to a pub. It solves the problem of having nothing to do with the younger members of our group (legally) and who would you rather see the film with than a bunch of fanatics you've never met before. Urmmm... maybe this sounded better in my head...

Anyway, I think it might be a laugh. I can sort out the tickets and such like as long as I get the money from people one way or another. I'll try to find out times, dates, and prices, but in the meantime - anyone interested?

purre 11-18-2002 11:01 AM

Could this type of meeting be organized in summer? It would be great to meet you all,but I am sort of...broke now :D
Anyways...I am planning about visiting England anyway during summer,so at the same time it would be nice to meet you.
BTW a very important question! How old do you have to be to be able to dring LEGALLY in a pub in England?

Simon, if you could make it down for the 'do' it would be excellent! Great to meet up again and all that.
Know what you mean about all the house stuff, didn't you move on the same day as me? I have no kitchen to speak of and everything is still in boxes  Off to B&Q tomorrow to plan my new kitchen - after a nervewracking cap-in-hand discussion with my bank manager of course

I moved friday, hope yours went ok. I have no washing machine, phone, freezer or fridge yet. All that comes next saturday..in the meantime I have to (with the help of my uncle) redecorate the kitchen and the lounge..both were in a bad way. The kitchen had 10 years of frying residue to be removed :( and nothing in the lounge works or it straight. To cap all that am off to Cardiff Wednesday to see the Foo Fighters..won't be home until thursday night..going have to work all night with my paint brush ;)

Woiuld be excellento to see you, Simon - hope you and Eppy have peaceful move (some hope I know ;) )
