Excellent, maybe Canada will be warm in the winter and we won't have to all migrate south.

I guess that explains the sheer violence of the solar plumes then. ;)

The core temperature of the Sun is normally 27 million degrees Fahrenheit. But in recent years it's climbed to an alarming 49 million degrees, says Dr. Van der Meer, leader of a team of Amsterdam-based space scientists who've been tracking the changes in the Sun.

If not... well it's STILL a bunch of BS! :D :D

Don't worry, it is just me being so hot that the earth is actually heating up from it :D :P

For those that think this is real, look on the right of the page, where is say they got the news from Weekly World News.

Here is a direct link to WWS.

Now tell me, does THIS look like a serious source to you?

Of course the source is reliable! I just had a one night stand with one of the mummies... :D

Luvian 10-03-2002 12:56 AM

The mummy story is quite stupid, considering people get their inside removed in the mummyfication process...

Yep, Weekly World News is a source of entertainment not news.
But it's an article from an American site... *Of course* they change values from the metrical to the American system. We here in the Netherlands do exactly the same when an American article is talking about Fahrenheit or miles, as the target audience most likely won't be familiar enough with Fahrenheit or miles and translate it back to the metric system to have a better understanding of it anyways. Not that strange, I hope? ;)

On a similar note, that article makes me feel ashamed those scientists are Dutch.

But remember that the word "scientist" is practically a synonym for "politician" or "lawyer" :D

Well, the UK is tenaciously and for no good reason hanging onto Imperial measures too. I guess it's just us being the USA's lapdog again! Honestly, George Bush, eh? I'm sure it's all his fault somehow ;)
