<font color = lightgreen>I, myself, was having a little fun. Iris = the area of color in your eye. You almost can't beat fresh basil. *yum*</font>

<font color = lightgreen><font color = red>Belle</font> and I have been working with the <font color = cyan>sprout</font>, TJ by name, since the warm weather began. A friend of ours came over with her children yesterday and, of course, he just had to show off for Madison (our friend's little girl).

Perhaps Will might find the nerve to at least get his toes wet, yes? :D

Poor Micah had internet problems Sunday morning; he most likely sent you an e-mail regarding this. We'll all just look forward to next Sunday morning, then, eh? </font>

Cloudbringer 05-07-2002 03:31 PM

Hey Azred! Interesting post! Flower arranging and martial arts... hmmm... :D

My tulips think it's fantastic weather and are all fully opened. I don't have irises yet, that's on the agenda for later. But my lilies are coming up and the daylilies as well. Astilbe is peeking out and the bleeding heart is blooming profusely!

<font color = lightgreen>Well, it was either that or marital art. </font>

Lord Shield 05-07-2002 04:05 PM

is it safe to come out of the ice cream vat yet? Has Lioness gone?

I'm not sure - to be on the safe side, you perhaps had better stay in there a few days more ;)

Cyril Darkcloud 05-07-2002 04:16 PM

Good afternoon, everyone. Just stopping in for a quick break from writing. Cloudy, I'd imagine you're having the same great weather that we're getting in New England - it certainly makes it tough to stay indoors *LOL*

*Lord Shield's legs bust out frmo the bottom of the vat. His arms pop out of the sides and Bok the crow perches on the lid. God knows where the cat has got to*

*the vat then waddles off to a corner*

Now I've just gotta figure how to drink things while wearing this

Talthyr Malkaviel 05-07-2002 04:19 PM

Marital art?? Umm, interesting :uhoh: *backs away*
I have an exam tomorrow, pity me
But that's not the worst, I have three the day after :(

dizzy 05-07-2002 04:20 PM

uss 05-07-2002 04:20 PM

hi, everybody!
has anybody seen that part in Monty Python`s Flying Circus, where they make up a new olympics sport - Hide `n Seek? that was really funny but wouldn`t be funny if i`d explain whats in it. you just gotta see it yourself. nobody does jokes better than Monty Python :D !

Talthyr Malkaviel 05-07-2002 04:20 PM

Hmm, maybe some sort of extending mechanical drinking straw of death??

Cyril Darkcloud 05-07-2002 04:22 PM

Is it the end of the school year for you, Talthyr?

I'm swamped myself with end fo the semester writing projects - hence my productive passing of time on IW this afternoon *LOL*

Talthyr Malkaviel 05-07-2002 04:25 PM

Well, it's the last term but still a while to go, at least it'll certainly feel that way while I'm in school.

Cyril Darkcloud 05-07-2002 04:32 PM

Fair enough - I remember the feeling.

I'll be finished up here in about two weeks.

Talthyr Malkaviel 05-07-2002 04:36 PM

What are you doing if I may ask??

Lady Blue03 05-07-2002 04:38 PM

<font color="pink">Afternoon all, taking s break from some menial office duties to spend time at my favorite place online :D ! I c you guys are talking abobut tests. I myself have 5 weeks left in shcool, and this week is the AP test my Lang&Comp class...i hope i pass! It cost me 76 friggin dollars! Not to mention all the finals coming up, blah. So how is everyone elses afternoon? Here in SD its kinda overcast, but about 70 degrees and windy...so im always taking my swaeter off and putting it back on <font color="pink">

Cyril Darkcloud 05-07-2002 04:40 PM

I'm presently in graduate school studying an important, but somewhat arcane, discipline known as hermeneutics -- essentially the process of interpretation and the generation of meaning.

Hi, Lady Blue - nice to meet you. I don't believe we've met before.

Wow that went right over my head! Well, at least you enjoy doing it, right? Is this a major? </font color="pink">

Cyril Darkcloud 05-07-2002 04:45 PM

*LOL* It's over my head a good bit of the time as well.

Yes, I do enjoy it.

Talthyr Malkaviel 05-07-2002 04:47 PM

Ahh, I see, so it's all about deriving the meaning from texts.
I guess you would do quite a bit on some of the ancient philosophers etc.

Cyril Darkcloud 05-07-2002 04:53 PM

Yes, Talthyr.

But the discipline itself is a bit broader than an exclusive focus upon written texts -- it would also include symbols and rituals for example.

I personally divide my time between the study of ancient philosophical and religious texts and postmodern literary theory.

Talthyr Malkaviel 05-07-2002 04:57 PM

Ah, I was mainly thinking text, but actually I suppose that some esoteric rituals would be as much a cause of interest... I'd be intersted to hear someone's views on the rituals of neanderthal man... although we probably have less sources, I've been interested in them for some time.

Lady Blue03 05-07-2002 05:00 PM

<font color="pink">Seeing as im totally lost, i will wait until a ocnversation i can relate to comes up :D </font color="pink">

Lord Shield 05-07-2002 05:00 PM

<font color = lightgreen>Texts from any particular period or simply in general? Also, how does postmodern literary theory differ from other literary theories? Enquiring minds want to know!

Azred pours himself another cup of white chocolate- and coconut-flavored coffee, then tops that with whipped cream and a small mint leaf. *sip* aahhhh.... gourmet coffee.</font>

SomeGuy 05-07-2002 09:23 PM

Go to a mexican resteraunt and order one and you will know what its all about..... :D :D Lioness would like it as I got a bizarre inkling.. and why would you want to drink 4 regular ones?
