Inventory

Studded Leather Armour +1
Longbow
several quivers of arrows,
a green hooded cloak,
a charmed locket given to her by an elven friend, (she is not really sure how it works or what it does as it was never really explained to her. Perhaps another elf would know?), several hair ties made of natural elven material, and miscellaneous food items.

Background

Appearance: Jena is 5’5” with light brown hair that tousles loosely over her shoulders in wavy, large curls when not tied back into a ponytail or pigtails, and kind, crystal blue eyes.

Personality: Jena is impulsive, aggressive, and emotional, yet she is charming, caring and often times humorous. Since her parents were murdered, she has trust issues.

Biography: Jena was born in a foreign world to a human father and human mother and lived amongst humans until the age of 14. Jena’s parents were murdered in her home when she was 14, and her and her brother barely managed to escape. Jena is not sure where her brother is, how he is, or even if he’s still alive. Frightened, she ran until she stumbled and was knocked out. A friendly elven male found and rescued her and brought her back to his clan. For four years, she trained and stayed with the elves. They took her in, cared for her, and told her tales of a secret portal that would only appear when the person who was supposed to step through was of age. Now, at 18 years old, Jena sees the portal. Nobody knew what lay on the other side: for its destination was different for everyone. Fate was the only determining factor of the location on the other side.

Important Notice

Ok guys, just some prior warning (for those of you who do not know) : in ten days time, I'm leaving for Canada for a month - I won't be back until the 11th of Jan, and I'm going to be having limited 'net access. As with the three weeks I was "pre-occupied" with before, I'll try to post, but it will be slow, and as before, I'll appoint someone to play DM in my absence so that the game doesn't grind to a total halt.

Cheers for your understanding - and I hope you all have a Merry Christmas

CD.

Bozos of Bones 11-29-2004 04:32 PM

Merry Chrismas, Yo Ho Ho!
Have a good trip! ;)

dplax 11-29-2004 05:49 PM

Yup good trip and whatever. Don't choose me as fill-in DM if you don't want what was discussed in the MSN chat...

Calaethis Dragonsbane 11-29-2004 05:51 PM

Uh huh. I was thinking the same person as before ;) .

RoSs_bg2_rox 12-01-2004 07:34 AM

Merry Christmas to you to Cal, glad you are getting to go back to Canada and have some fun ;)

I will be posting today, hopefully now...hopefully before you move the game on.

Cheers

Ross

Calaethis Dragonsbane 12-02-2004 05:44 PM

Hmm. Since we've reached our second thread, I'm going to review this game so far - to see how far its strayed (or met) its original concept.

The original concept was to: produce a stereotypical tongue-in-cheek, light-atmospheric game - and poke fun at it, all in good tastes of course

As to why – I’d toyed with making it on a whim for close to a week, finally shrugged and gave it a shot, knowing that I’d be gone for three weeks within a couple – and to my immense surprise, it worked out and thus far has been successful, in no small part to the players who’ve made it this way, although some have posted less then anticipated…

The party consists of a paladin, ranger, healer, warrior, thief and mage - pretty much the traditional setup, which is good (well, Aeriah's a monk, but that counts as a warrior, imo)

So far, the original concept of a storyline has consisted of a: mystical stereotypical medieval kingdom, a spell/curse over the land, a quest, a hooded mysterious figure, an enchanted forest and an ancient being and the caster of the spell dwelling in a mountain.

Close to the objective now, part I of the story is almost complete, as the party prepares to face the caster of the spell… Part II shall follow shortly afterwards, and then the conclusion of the story – although, two of the players have pressed for a sequel. All in all, so far, I think its gone well and I’m pleased with it. Once this is over, I think I’d enjoy DMing a sequel, though some input on how you players feel so far about the game would be welcome, both over msn and here. Any suggestions, constructive criticism or comments are welcome. At this point, a sequel, if the rest of the game processes smoothly, would be more then possible. If you lot say if you're interested, and those who do, I'll begin work on a storyline. - So its in your hands guys (and girls).

Cheers,

CD.

GameGurl25 12-03-2004 09:26 AM

I am thoroughly enjoying the game. I would like to see additional interaction between player characters. Honestly, I was hoping for a sequel. I’d be disappointed to see the story end. The Ugly Troll has a little of everything, I believe: adventure, betrayal, romance, and friendship. Twists to the story are nice, as are unpredictable outcomes. As far as the sequel, would new players or NPC’s be added, or are we going to keep pretty much the same party? (I suppose that depends on how the story turns out as well as player interest). I would like the opportunity for more interaction with NPCs (merchants (traveling or local), spell casters, priests, trainers, champions, drunks in taverns, etc.) Perhaps this, however, is just an issue for me since I joined the game relatively late. Other than that, keep up the fun. I’m having a blast!

CD: If you need any help coming up with possible story lines/material, or would like some, please let me know. I can get creative.

Calaethis Dragonsbane 12-04-2004 10:08 AM

Well, as to NPC interaction, since you missed the start, you missed the "village" that everyone began in, and thus, all the "common" NPCs - you also missed meeting the tree, so...

But, I'll bear your offer in mind ;) .

Bozos of Bones 12-04-2004 10:45 AM

Game rocks, Cal! So that's now three players pressing for a sequel, and I hope you will please the small massive :D

I didn't say that with a single word. You see, I'm already campaigning for a sequel.

RoSs_bg2_rox 12-04-2004 06:15 PM

I would like a sequel too. I have been enjoying the game, I think there is a lot of NPC interaction...well at least between certain characters and it is enjoyable to read, even if I can't really get too much interaction myself.

Good stuff Cal, keep it up!

GameGurl25 12-06-2004 03:20 PM

hey...is Able still in the game?
I've not seen him lately

RoSs_bg2_rox 12-06-2004 03:21 PM
